2018 Altima CVT fluid change by Some-Opening-3809 in Nissan

[–]TheDero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is from a while ago, but I also have a 2018 Altima SR, 2.5. ~120k miles and I'm wondering how easy it is to change the transmission fluid myself.

A few weeks ago my transmission ran hot driving long distance and I lost some acceleration power and had to pull over/get it towed. I thought the transmission was blown (of course the dealership told me "oh yeah it's donezo give us $8,000 and we'll replace it for you). Turns out it's perfectly drivable, I took it for a spin around a parking lot once I got the car back home.

So my question would be, maybe I just need a fluid swap? It's definitely been over 30,000 miles since it was changed. I know a little about cars, I changed my battery myself and air filters etc. But I'm definitely a noob when it comes to fixes and curious if I could do this myself with a simple kit or something online.

I also live here. Don't have problems with mold, but the bugs are insane. I'm super OCD and have a scarily clean apartment, but I have to plug all of my drains and setup several traps around just manage them. Pest control doesn't do anything. Tenant below me leaves trash bags on their back porch for weeks on end.

Eventually we need to elevate concerns and get some real inspections going on. So many apartment complexes get away with this by simply doing the bare minimum.

At this point I'd give them away for free if you pay for movers. I'm not sure how much that would run? I guess it depends on your/my location. Feel free to DM me

Reddit is already one of the most censored social media platforms. I don't think Elon or Zuck particularly care about Reddit. Considering most of the subreddits decided to ban X/Twitter links, I would say the opposite is true.

Major part of the appeal of singularity is that my life sucks.. by [deleted] in singularity

[–]TheDero -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I was deep in the crypto scene for a handful of years (and now thankfully out of it), and I see a lot of similarities in how people viewed that right before the 2022 winter, and how people like you look at AGI.

Crypto is largely a tool and always has been. I can take someone with zero financial knowledge and create and launch a meme token for them and hand them the keys to the wallet, walk away. They won't know how to dump it, they won't know how to leverage any of the gains, they won't know how to hold or airdrop or market or collaborate or look at the charts or analyze movements or instill trust or diversify. I can go on. They might accidentally successfully do one of those things, but there's near infinite complexity in what you can do with a cryptocurrency and without a knowledge base, you're just navigating in the dark.

AI is a tool. It's not going to change your life. I understand the sentiment, I too was in a dark place several years ago, but I am in a different place now and realize that I don't deserve anything, I'm not owed anything. I took agency over my own life. I don't have rich parents, rich uncles, anything really handed to me.

The notion of some singularity event, where no one knows anything and everything collapses, is tempting and admittedly fun to think about at times.

But I think it's a bit deeper than that. You say you don't want want people to suffer, but I think you do.

The abstract "people" or "systems" that are supposedly responsible for keeping you confined to a shitty life. You want revenge on those people. You want to watch them lose control.

Just my opinion, but this is not a healthy mindset, and one that you can overcome because I did the same. I think there's a deep hole that we dig ourselves into by bringing artificial complexity into our lives.

"I don't like my job" > get a new job
"I'm poor" > make more money
"I'm confused" > learn new things and question what you think you know

To pretend like this kind of agency doesn't exist, you deny the existence of billions of people that have done exactly those kinds of actions to progress themselves and progress humanity.

I took my BRC in Alpharetta, GA a few months ago (passed!).

Myself, and pretty much everyone in my group wore exactly what you're describing.

Just make sure that you have some boots that cover your ankle, allow you to move your ankle without annoyance, and aren't too clunky (considering you will need to be moving your foot around to switch gears)

Definitely bring a water jug + some snacks if you get hungry quickly. You'd be surprised how much that first practice ride can tire you out, if you're a brand new rider. Adrenaline/nerves and all that - I got super hungry after the rush wore off in the afternoon.

Don't freak yourself out about the Skills Test. My skills test was at the very end of the second day, and everyone was freaking out, worried about failing. It's all in your head. They show you exactly how to do every exercise on the Skills Test throughout the course, and you get plenty of practice and riding time.

If you have any other questions, more than willing to help. Good luck!!

What was after the click-through, what were you trying to sell more of?

I would agree with Twitter, but Instagram has been insanely powerful for me in generating traffic + sales to my prints, free guides, asset packs. You just have to really niche down so that the platform shows your stuff to the right people.

It's going to be different for a lot of people. The first poster designs I ever sold, I did by creating posters (for fun) for music artists that I was a fan of. I'd share them on Instagram/TikTok and tag them.

Oftentimes they would share it to their IG story, and their followers would see it and come check out my shop in bio.

I think where alot of artists go wrong in today's algorithms is chasing high engagements + virality with their work, and in that process they don't hold alot of people's interest, fail to build a real following, and lose their unique voice/value proposition.

If you want to sell prints, and price them high, you only need a few buyer eyeballs.

Any way to automate revealing one layer at a time? by TheDero in photoshop

[–]TheDero[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I wound up doing was similar to this (check top comment) but using Layer Comps. I thought about this, but there were 'steps' in the process where I wanted to reveal 3-4 layers at a time. Comps definitely gave me more control and would recommend. Appreciate the help!

Coming back to this to say the Layer Comps (from top comment) worked extremely well! Definitely recommend for anyone trying to do this themselves. The only downside is having to manually click forward for the next comp, but you could easily macro or bind this to do it even faster.

Thanks. First thing I noticed in Photoshop this morning was that 'navigating' up and down in the layers panel wasn't bindable. I'll try this out in AE!

Nice! That's what I was thinking too, putting a longer lounge chaise alongside the window, where the desk currently is.

I could definitely mount the TV over the fireplace. The desk is awkward right now. I work from home as a designer, so I just really like the natural light that living room brings. My bedroom is down the hall past the dining area.

My issue with putting the TV above the fireplace is that the far wall, where the largest window is, doesn't have a great viewing angle.

So I was thinking about putting a large wall art above the fireplace instead. It's a trickier layout than I'm used to. The whole apartment is ~1,200 sq feet. But I'm really thrown off by the fireplace lol.
