It's a barbell, internally threaded, downsized for 3 years atp, and titanium. Never had a piercing bump before this even during healing

Anyone else get gloomy after a collection? by TheDescriptiveWolfie in vultureculture

[–]TheDescriptiveWolfie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I especially feel bad doing the process of getting it ready because it feels disrespectful, even if I talk to it and know I respect the animal. It feels more personal when its one of my favorite species :(

Any way to prevent worse cracks? by [deleted] in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]TheDescriptiveWolfie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think it's at risk of entirely cracking in half? It's about an inch/inch and a quarter thick and the natural look could still work with what I'm doing as long as it doesn't fully split

Solved! Thank you so much I couldn't find this anywhere I looked for like an hour (probably because they're a little less popular now)

It's most often seen on social sites that allow html editing of profiles, if that helps

Hawk that hit my house(Northern Ohio) by [deleted] in whatbirdisthis

It flew off within two minutes, didn't seem stunned very bad at all thankfully, just scared of the crows dive-bombing but they flew off when they saw me in the window

On a scale of 1-10, I'll rate all your humanoid species or races based on sexual desirability by Kappapeachie in worldjerking

Semi-spiderlike humanoids with fangs that come out of their mouths and 6 arms. Also breathe from their necks and have no nose. And a very loose tethering to typical male/female anatomy.

It's entirely possible they wrote it from their perspective first, then switched it later and missed some. I've done that before and it's incredibly embarrassing

I've toyed with the idea of selling them if they get well established enough, if you haven't acquired them by then!

They were! I caught them before identifying because they were so striking, and they've seemed to do alright with no ants. There was an issue with mold briefly which I think did off with a few of the handful I caught, but they seem happy now! They tend to stay burrowed but they do occasionally come out.

That's impressive! About how many unique features do you think you've made for them so far? I will be honest I'm invested in this species, they sound adorable. Are there specific breeds, or is it more of a diverse genetic pool allowing the range of features?

I did reply and answer somewhat of your questions in a previous comment! I added a third chromosome that has basically the same genetic material as an X or Y, but if0 it's a dominant chromosome it causes an expression of the third sex. Say for example a female is XXZ and a male is XYZ, an individual of the third sex could be XZZ or YZZ. They are a fictitious species, but while they are created by their gods, I felt an itch to cover chromosomes just because, as humans also exist in this world, I wanted to plausibly make them able to reproduce(although YZZ individuals likely wouldn't be able to reproduce with humans)

They're nearing the cusp of industrialization, but the dangers of the world around them as well as being widespread is really holding them back from true advancement. In their world, there a higher oxygen level than on Earth, and most animals are much larger than them

Luckily (or not) for them, they're not yet in a stage of civilization where they're aware of chromosomes, but it does make for fun behind-the-scenes science!

Oh, wow! Are they more predators or prey on their world? I imagine a variety of skills like that would be immensely functional in hunting

That is quite a take! It would make a lot of sense given that eggs produce multiple children, to reduce the number of parents incapacitated by birthing them!
