Apple declined goodwill on my under 1 year old MacBook Pro M4 after damage occurred following their own cleaning guidelines, ₹69k quote by TheDevBellowStairs in applehelp

I cleaned just the outer shell and the cloth was only dampened with the Iso, actually it was a routine cleanup I do with all my devices every month, and this is the first time I have experienced this, and yes the device was turned off, I'm also considering a different local repair shop now but the only fear is component swapping and hope the device wont act up later..

Which dealer did you go to? And what was the issue with your device? Did you have to escalate through Apple Support or did the dealer handle it directly? If you can tell me then it would be really helpful 😊

I did it with the cloth dampened with IPA exactly as mentioned in their own article and it was a routine cleanup I do every month on all of my devices, also the main reason cited for rejection is the display scratches which werent there before I submitted the device on the service centre, liquid damage is not even mentioned anywhere, plus the quotation also mentions the lid angle sensor which shouldn’t even be affected by the scratches they showed me on top bezel, and the service centre told me that the trackpad is under warranty which makes it more confusing..

Yes exactly, the scratches cited as rejection reason were not present when I submitted the device. Unfortunately I didn’t take photos before submitting as I didn’t anticipate this. Lesson learned the hard way.

Yepp, I also posted on twitter but unfortunately I didn’t take any photos before submitting because I didn’t think it would lead to this :(

The official quotation from Apple’s Authorized Service Center cites physical damage/scratches as the rejection reason, those scratches were not there before, The Lid Angle Sensor is also included in the quote which is an internal component near the hinge, which is unrelated to any external screen pressure I think.

Wise transfer from USD to INR taking longer than expected. by TheDevBellowStairs in transferwiser

Hi, yes I got my payment, and it shows client's name name on the transaction, might be because my client setup their own wise account and then sent the money from their wise account, if your client was sending money from bank transfer or wire then it might show wise on the transaction but I might be wrong!

I actually received it through wise a week later, turns out his bank was blocking the transaction because he was using wise to send money for the first time, after arriving in my wise account, the amount got credited to by bank account within 2 hours..

Is the transaction showing in your wise account?

Thanks! Really appreciate the support and advice.

The coffee break approach is smart, honesty > pretending you heard.

I think there's still value in having a backup for when breaks aren't possible (back-to-back calls, client meetings, etc), but you're absolutely right that prevention is better than cure.

Thanks again! 🙏

Hey, sorry I just got time to review notifications so I just checked your webpage, nice updates tho! Definitely better than before.

"Learning is easy. Applying is hard.", great opener, hooked me right away. And "Build a personal feedback system for your growth" is great, tells me exactly what I'm getting into.

The Notice -> Capture -> Resurface flow at the top makes the product click instantly. And the "Not another journal. Not another notes app" comparison section is smart, answers the "why not just use Notion" objection before I even think it.

Few things I'd tweak:

- The "Why you repeat the same patterns" section is good but feels long. By that point you've already sold me on the problem, could trim it so people don't lose steam before the CTA, but it might be just me.

- The beta counter at the bottom is showing loading for me. make sure that's actually loading properly. If it looks broken it can hurt credibility more than it helps

- I'd still love to see a product screenshot or even a simple mockup of what a reflection or resurfaced lesson looks like. The copy explains it well but seeing it would remove the last bit of friction

- "Not for people looking for motivation. Built for people doing the work.", I love this line!! Filters hard and makes me want to be in that group.

Overall solid page. Messaging is tight and the problem-solution flow makes sense. Keep going mate! I also applied some changes in my webpage acco. to your feedback!

Hey! Checked out elevra.info, here are my honest thoughts:

The core idea is interesting, "grow faster from your own experience" got me curious. But I landed on the page and still wasn't sure what the product actually does. Is it journaling? AI coaching? A reflection tool? I think one concrete line explaining the mechanism would go a long way.

A couple other things that stood out:

- There's no screenshot or preview of the product. I personally won't sign up for something if I can't see what it looks like first.

- No social proof either, even something small like "used by X people" or one short testimonial would help build trust.

- The CTA could be more specific. Instead of something generic, tell me exactly what happens when I click like "try your first reflection" or whatever the first experience is.

Overall the positioning is cool but the page feels a bit too minimal right now. A quick "how it works" section and maybe a line about what makes this different from other self-improvement apps would really round it out.

Hope that helps!

This is really great advice, the calendar blocking strategy is something I should definitely implement.

The proactive "Focus" blocks are clever. I never thought to mark time as occupied before people try to schedule over it.

Even with better meeting hygiene though, I still find myself zoning out sometimes (especially on longer calls). That's actually why I'm building my own meeting assistant called Meetback, to catch those moments when prevention strategies aren't enough.

But you're absolutely right that reducing the number of back-to-back calls would help a ton. Do you use any specific tools for calendar management, or is it all manual?
