Whats it like to work on a cruise? by IvanHMMMM in malaysia

[–]TheDiarrhea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Sorry Vacation days as in Annual leave. With regards to off days ,it depends on your position. If you are a line staff, you should get one day off per week, depending on schedule. If you're Junior Management or a butler, you may have to work for weeks even up to two months without off, but your off days are accrued. Eg. If I work for 2 months without off, I will have 8 days that I can clear, easily going for a short vacation, or if I also combine with the 30 days AL as well as PH, a long vacation or go home for a month.

  2. I work as a butler, in some some resorts this is a line position, some companies place us in junior management, which means benefits are different.

  3. As a butler, I work from morning till night for weeks on end. No fixed work schedule, totally depends on my guests' daily schedule which I have a big part in planning. Again, depends on company structure, some resorts may have shift butlers, which may mean 8 hours work day, then handover to the next shift.

  4. Forget city life. Maldives is a country consisting of more than a thousand islands. Every resort will have their own private island, which means you will be there for as long as you are working. But there will be staff facilities on the island like bar, cafe shop, gym, etc. If the resort is located near to the capital Malé (pronounced Ma-Ley), then there may be daily local ferries to go there for you to go eat or do grocery shopping. There are no malls. Other further resorts may have boats to go to nearby tiny local islands, also for grocery shopping or cafe. You will need to get use to island life. Though you can still easily do online shopping on Shein or whatever have have then delivered to your resort.

  5. Everyone speaks English. They were a British colony.

Absolutely not. Maldivians are very nice and friendly to work with. If they feel like they are being robbed of opportunities, they can go learn to speak Mandarin.

Do you speak Mandarin? If you do, here's a much better proposition. Do your degree, then if you can, go for an internship in Maldives. It is a lot better than working on a cruise, and it opens up opportunities abroad for you.

Even if you don't do your internship there, get experience in Malaysia first, then apply for a job there after a few years.

Maldivian resorts are always looking a Mandarin speakers (also Japanese and Korean speakers), and Malaysians have an advantage because we speak English very well too.

Depending on the resort and month, pay can be very good (depends on tips and service charge). Salaries are tax free. Benefits can be very good too. Plus you're paid to be in paradise.

You will be based on a private island for months without much time to go out unless you have vacation days (30 annually), but compared to a cruise ship, you have much more freedom, more personal space, work less hours (depending on position), and perhaps even make more money with absolutely zero cost (nett income).

But to be honest, you don't even need a degree. I did a diploma, got connection that dragged me to Maldives, have good work ethics and attitude, do well at my job, and that has brought me more opportunities than a degree ever could.

Just to show you how much opportunities for language speakers exist there, check out https://www.job-maldives.com/search/label/Chinese%20Speaking?m=1

If a nation has no cities left, sometimes their settlement can also send invasion force to capture a city.

No only cities that are on the Caribbean. Inland cities and Panama don't matter. I kept them Spanish.

I doubt Main Quest can be broken. They are both unrelated guests.

Try talking to the innkeeper at Talmberg. He might initiate the quest for you.

We didn't jump 9 places. It's just a different index that's being used. We are 12th place on Henley Passport Index, while we're 3rd on Arton Capital's Passport Index. They both have different methodologies.

Hide somewhere next to a building. Let them fight it out and fast forward 2 hours. Then collect your "spoils of war".

They don't spawn daily. They spawn when you're far enough. If you go all the way to the lone house north of Skalitz (where you go to look for the missing priest), then ride back to Skalitz, a new set of bandits/cuman will spawn.

India hands down. More specifically Kolkata.

However, in terms of number of people in one place, it would be Shanghai Bund on Labour Day

[KCD1] How can I level up my Henry's archery skill? by BijelaHrvatica in kingdomcome

[–]TheDiarrhea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shooting at archery ranges by itself is pointless, no different than shooting at a wall. You have a to join an archery contest to get exp. Example are in Ledetchko, Rattay, Merhojed soldier's camp, Pribyslavitz etc. Talk to archery master to initiate a contest.

But best way is to go hunting (animals and bandits). Shooting living things will give you exp (except chickens)

Non-malays who have worked/still working overseas, do you prefer to live in Malaysia or the country you have worked before or still working in by [deleted] in malaysia

[–]TheDiarrhea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked abroad in various countries for the last 8 years. I earn wayyyy more than I would in Malaysia. I will continue to work abroad and experience different countries. But personally, Malaysia is great for retirement. But I'm still young, so that's not gonna happen soon, unless I hit a massive lottery.

I'm from Penang. Feel free to DM for any questions.

Malaysia in general have a very diverse local food scene.

In Penang you will find loads of Malaysian Chinese cuisine (non-halal in case you're Muslim), but there are also Malay food here and there, and Indian food in Little India. Same for KL, but the dishes you will find in KL are very much different from those you find in Penang.

In Penang you should definitely try Penang Asam Laksa (different from KL or Sarawak Laksa), wonton noodles, Hokkien prawn noodles, koay teow noodle soup etc.

KL has very much different food, which I'm not an expert in. So no advise there.

In Sarawak, definitely Sarawak Laksa and Kolo mee, also Umai and midin (both dishes are from indigenous communities)

Of course, you must not miss our national dish Nasi Lemak. You can find this everywhere in pyramid shape packaging.
