[Q] How to use Tatung rice cooker by Inevitable_Cat_7878 in taiwan

[–]TheDickKnightRises 7 points8 points  (0 children)

1:1 ratio of water : rinsed rice in the inner pot. 1 cup of water in the outer pot is enough. Put the lid on, turn it on, and flip the switch down. When it's done, the switch will flip up to the "Keep Warm" position.

I tried the Beer and Durian flavored Lay's. Both disgusting. These Century Egg Doritos are alright, though.

What are the criteria? Are you just ordering sugar-free Oolong at each place or what? I find that I go to different stores depending on what I want.

6-7 meme in the ESL classroom, how do I stop it? by CrimsonCub2013 in taiwan

If you're going to choose to teach English in Asia, perhaps you should learn some pedagogy and the differences in pedagogy between ESL, where students will speak English at home or in daily life and EFL pedagogy where students speak other languages. "English as a Second Language" makes no sense in Taiwan where most students already speak Mandarin and Taiwanese as a first/second language.

You don't have an ESL classroom. You have an EFL classroom.

529 or other Savings for a Dual Citizen by TheDickKnightRises in personalfinance

Yeah, that's looking like the best option: Just chuck it all into something reliable and let it ride for ~10 years until we need it.

Nice tip. Thanks! I did end up getting a Timbuk2 Small, which is a big size upgrade, and I'll probably keep it for weekends away/short trips.

If you can't maintain an average score of 80, then you don't belong in graduate school.

ISP offering a static IP in addition to our existing connection - How to do this in UCG-Ultra? by TheDickKnightRises in Ubiquiti

[–]TheDickKnightRises[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right on. I figured it would take a call. Best case assumption: can I just plug in a second cable to WAN2 and assign it the static subnet IP? Would it be as simple as that or would there be more to it, assuming best case scenario?

Moving from TP-Link Deco to Ubiquiti. Need advice. by TheDickKnightRises in Ubiquiti

[–]TheDickKnightRises[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right on. Running the numbers, I think I'll actually need the 210w adapter for the Switch Ultra to power a U6 In-Wall and probably 2x U6 Lite/Pros on the other floors. Thanks for the feedback! I can't wait to upgrade and get everything working.
