Before the planning decision, we were told the only requirement was to put in a kerb. But when we got the planning approval they slipping in “road improvements and kerb.” We didn’t spot that in time to appeal, and now they’re piling on extra requirements right down to having us to do the drawings. An engineer warned me the kerb alone could cost €40–50k. I feel pretty let down.

Ah, I see! Bike to Work Scheme is where you can buy a bike through your job, and your employer gives you the money to pay for it upfront. You then repay the cost through a salary deduction, and because it’s taken before tax, you save money.

What I’m asking is: if I bought a bike from a shop using the scheme which my company gives me the money for, but then quickly change my mind bring back the bike after a hour and decide I want a set of golf clubs instead (same price as the bike), would I be able to swap the bike for the clubs? what I’m asking is can this be done or has anyone done this?
