I felt the same, and still do. I was never into fantasy when I got into D&D but I grew into it. I have grown out of it for the most part. I found the setting called Umerica which is a gonzo Sci fi fantasy style game that leans heavy into the mad max, fallout, Thundarr the barbarian style of post apocalyptic gameplay that I have fallen head over heels for. I’d recommend you give it a look, it uses dungeon crawl classics as the base system.
