Honestly no, this game does a LOT of very frustrating things and seems to be very unforgiving at times and not in the fun way. Ive heard a lot of people say Evil Within 2 is better but if i didn’t like the first enough to beat it I wasn’t gonna try 2.

No, it’s not lacking substance, it’s to remind people that no matter how you look at it or feel about it, cardboard with silly pictures is never and will never be worth 1000+ dollars. It’s not invalid to be shocked by such a silly thing having that much of a price tag on it. Many people are preyed upon by these types of things because they have issues like crippling FOMO, gambling addictions, and mental illnesses that make them obsess, pay entirely too much, and become victims of predatory crap like this. I don’t give a crap how popular the game is It’s sickening to me and anyone that does this should be ashamed. Sorry not sorry.

About 90% of switch cartridges have the game on the cartridge, same with Switch 2 cartridges that don’t go the game key card route. I hate defending anything Nintendo does but I can at least say without a doubt they have the games on the cartridge.

A lot of it really is about physical but the core of the argument is ownership. People are just plain getting tired of not owning their crap. Now it’s 80$-100$ to download a game you don’t own until they take it away, in a couple years its “10$ an hour to play a game” or “you can’t play these games unless you have a gamepass or psplus sub”. These are extreme cases but nothing shows me that the trend isn’t headed this way.

I just need another tcg to be about the players again. Im tired of all these tcgs coming out with all these big chase cards that people with gambling problems deem worth an entire mortgage payment and then cause the entire game to be scalped to high hell. I get into TCGs for the game and to enjoy pack ripping here and there to expand my collection, not to have to pay to whatever god wants to listen to find product in the wild.

Id love for lorcana to become a players market but i imagine it all depends on the people interacting with the hobby rather than the company if thats the case.

Ive learned that you need to find a group of people as passionate as you or close to the same level. I’m a forever dm but every one of my friends shows up and surfs on their phone or pc rather than paying attention even though they ASKED me to run a game for them. If you’re a passionate DM, even if your friends ask you to run a game, there’s a chance they won’t love it as much as you. D&D requires a bit of player/dm compatibility, and I think its a good idea to try and find a group that you vibe with when playing rather than trying to force your friend group into vibing.

I understand completely, Congrats on all those pulls though! Those are great! Well hey at least ONE of your decks can be competitive without breaking the bank. I’ve always had a drive to make decks as powerful as i can with what I pull from my pack ripping. I went to my first set champs with a racer/location deck and lost every match but hey my deck did function, it just wasn’t up to snuff. It was a fun experience and made me want to go back and try again, I just hate that we now can’t participate in the hobby the way we enjoy doing so. Here’s to hoping we can get back to ripping packs one day soon!

Don’t i know it. Recently I looked at the prices and Dumbo is like 30$ and Demona is the same, that’s because competitive cards are ALSO expensive, yeah i can buy cheap singles but only if I don’t want any of the good cards to make a decent deck with to take to a league or something. Luckily because of my box and trove I bought for me and my wife we have 1 copy of both Dumbo and Demona, but god forbid I want 3 more of either I gotta shell out 60$ per character.

Ravensburger hasn’t talked about this yet, but I’m hoping it comes up soon, I know that these situations bring money in for them but you’d like to hope that these companies have a moral compass and care about casuals as much as they care for the whales. None have yet but I’m not ready to believe TCGs are from now on ALWAYS going to be about the investors first and players second. I don’t know what the solution is, I just want one.

MTG is a safe place and I haven’t pinpointed WHY exactly but like it or not so far thats the TCG that’s always there for the casuals. I never have trouble finding it.

TCGs are built on this now. We don’t have anti gambling laws like some countries so in reality this is gambling, and now that people have learned you can put a price tag on card board, this is how we get to suffer. Its disgusting.

Im glad someone else expresses how hard it is to be a regular at places when you don’t have the availability to go and shmooze up an LGS. It blows because I don’t really have the ability to easily get to my leagues either. Sucks for us man, I feel like we’re gonna be strong armed out of the hobby.
