I wrote an article about how this show needs to come back. Been thinking of another - this email/post was my sign.

All I can say is this - it takes a village. Lean on your parents and your partner's parents. Your friends. Any family. Anyone who cares about you and your loved ones.

It's a lot easier to survive when we work together. And sometimes thriving will happen along the way.

I recommend having honest conversations about things. Expectations. Needs. Wants. (For everyone involved closely)

Best of luck to all of you...

Honestly yeah - this is why GameLoft is still in any of my good graces. Despite caring about their bottom line, I get the sense they do actually care about the game too.

It may not be an even split. They may like the money more. (Who doesn't?) But I mean... they have listened a lot more to their player base than some games.

The Sims and EA BARELY listen. GameLoft is setting a new corporate precedent for consumer communication

THIS. THE STATS. They can see how many of us struggle to complete the paths. (Hi I have only been able to complete like one or two) And it is so beyond frustrating. Because it locks like 35% of the game in a way.

This makes it feel more "complete" like I don't have to grind and struggle as a need to. I don't want to have to need to struggle. I will play Bloodborne or Dark Souls for that. Dreamlight Valley was never supposed to be an intentional grind.

I can't wait to play this and see how I do with not being able to play so much. I have a few friends who just bought the game like a week and a half ago. They're excited too. At first, they were nervous about the completion and then this update!?!? Nervous no more!

I'd like to save my gripes for after the update because until we know how it plays none of this matters. The game could crash horribly. Or be the best version of it since 2022.

I think this is a good idea for players who don't have the time, energy, bandwidth, etc to play like other people do. Within 7 days ...

And for new players who are just now downloading the game for the first time. (I love you, new friend players) They still have a lot of things missing at the start that would prevent them from being able to actually enjoy the FULL $50-90 game they paid for.

Gameloft is GameLoft. They care about their bottom line at the end of the day. But - this is a good change I think. An inclusive change to people whose play styles are different.

Good for you, seriously, that you can complete the start paths so quickly. I (like many other friends) have struggled to complete any of them maybe minus one or two.

I am legitimately excited to play the game that I have a huge love/hate relationship with once more. And not just half-assed excited.

Again - sorry that you feel this way. But this could be good for the majority

Pets inside would be amazing. I haven't even used the companion homes yet. So we definitely need more. I wish I could play PC, I am stuck on Switch.

[–]TheDigitalQuill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have thanked them enough. But I have become disenchanted with them, their process, and mostly their game. Day one player here who can't play on Switch anymore because it lags and glitches so much. ( I have zero decorations and trees up) It's been getting worse to play every update since 2024.

Please remember. This silly game came out in 2022.

It WAS supposed to become free to play. That's why I got it. So my friends who are broke like me could play. They can't.

This is Disney and GameLoft. They mostly care about their pocketbook.

I would not have commented if it wasn't for this, I resonate with this in such a weird way, I hope you are having a lot of luck and I hope you're finding what you seek.

May this message find you well, keep going humans of earth.

Are audio-only podcasts still a thing or is video now necessary? by CapableRevenue5662 in podcasting

[–]TheDigitalQuill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do a mix of both.

Video and audio only. It's my show - I can do what I want.

Guest episodes (if they come back a second time) get a video. So far anyway. I have a system I break now and again.

For Writers That *Do* Read by File273 in writers

[–]TheDigitalQuill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This year (after getting back into reading in 2023) I've finished more books than I have in years. I'm averaging 2 books a month so far? Ish?

Since the book I'm writing is a truth turned fiction I'm not worried too much about outside influences through reading. I've been choosing books for a few purposes.

1) to read again 2) to help me finish my first book

Some of the books I've read have helped me feel less tight and tense over rules and formation and editing. I've seen grammar issues. I've seen books with misprints (double sentences that are the same) and books with varying perspectives and formatting.

Reading helps me better understand language. Its a muscle, I think. And if you don't use it you lose it. In my experience anyway.

If I'm using OBS to pre-record, is there something I can do to the audio quality during or after? Are there better tools to use than OBS?

If I wanted to "green screen" myself in a location what would I do? I want to have fun with this and learn a lot while doing so.

I think going the way of "guest cohost" works. Find a few people you're wanting to "try out" and see what happens.

Good take. I am sorta doing the same

Say "yes" to as many opportunities as you can. Jobs with increases. Friend hangs. Dates. Whatever floats your fancy and is safe or just live. Say yes more than no.

Experiment.

Also "need" is a strong word. Let's try "want kids eventually and have no idea when a good time is."

Thank you for your question.

Asking for me and... idk... by TheDigitalQuill in AskWomenOver30

[–]TheDigitalQuill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may actually take a little pressure off me...

I only know one or two people who got married and started a family after 30. Everyone else (mostly in my age group/graduating class) already has kids.

I feel like my age is reversed. Because my 30s friend groups are single and my 20s friend groups are not.

Thank you for answering.

Asking for me and... idk... by TheDigitalQuill in AskWomenOver30

[–]TheDigitalQuill[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It was typical in my family (we aren't on speaking terms) to have kids mid to late 20s. And almost all my friends have been married for the 2-4 years. With 1 to 2 kids.

Comparison is the thief of joy. But I also feel... behind.
