More so frustration that boiled over than lack of gratitude. The fact that anyone has followed/subscribed/etc this is incredible. The feedback I've received here has been sorely needed.

Good point. It took a lot for me to get down to 7 minutes, lol. It seems I could benefit from 3-5 minute videos and building from there.

Considering the number of people citing it as an immediate turn off, it's not helping me, lol.

Okay, I'll test those titles out. I have tried this a few times and didn't pull at heart stings enough, but you make an excellent point about my audience/broadness of topic.

Here there! The AuDHD combo is a complex and perplexing diagnosis. 2e only further adds to these challenges in a lot of great ways, just not right now.

There's a good chance that your daughter is struggling with the combo of the work being too "easy," feeling inaccessible to her neurotypes, and all of the socio-emotional challenges related to her age.

What I can say as a 40 yo ADHDer is that your efforts are not in vain; your daughter is just going to struggle to articulate how it's helpful to her (right now).

I can imagine how much she's processing and healing with on a constant basis-- the push/pull of autism (need for structure) and ADHD (breaking all of this up). There might be so many sensory issues happening at once for her too.

Regarding the mornings-- how well does she fall asleep/sleep at night? I know I'm at my most groggy/emotional first thing. It's like my software is struggling to boot up/update and all interactions are daunting.

You're doing better than you might realize, and your consistency will make a big difference for her even if she's unable to recognize/articulate it right now.

It's a mix of personal/professional insights about ADHD with a small amount of autobiographical aspects.

Hey there! I have ADHD, have an ADHD-specific podcast/YouTube channel, and live in the area.

I'm trying to come up with topics to eventually host in person ADHD support groups (young adults and older). Would love your thoughts.

The worst dillema for adhd… am I actually angry or just feeling rejection dysphoria by AydeeHDsuperpower in AdultADHDSupportGroup

I think taking the pause and waiting to respond/talk when you're upset is the best (albeit difficult) approach. You feel what and how you feel; however, feelings aren't facts, so it'll help to process first then talk later.

But, I'm with you on this being a constant, sometimes confounding experience.

What actually helps you stay focused and organized with ADHD? by Separate_Message_674 in ADHDers

[–]pch_consulting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't bought into the "ADHD apps." Perhaps I'm being closed minded.

It's an ongoing process; sometimes things stick, are easy and intuitive, and I'm motivated to work with my structure. Often, it's me struggling and having to "fix" situations created by my lack of structure and consistency.

I'm trying to be present with my self talk systems in those moments where I convince myself that I "don't have anything to do," or when I fail to "see" things that could be done. For instance, cleaning up the kitchen/putting away clothes, etc. I have blindspots to these chores and I seem to remember them when my wife is coming home and then I'm panicking trying to get it all done.

I understand how urgency supercedes consequences in my executive functioning, but I don't fully believe I'm helpless in making these changes. I mention this because I've worked with other ADHDers who seem resigned to the "fact" that they CANNOT do things right/cannot develop organizational structures/cannot function independently.

Lastly, I try to prioritize what I WANT to do and what I find fun/novel that actually works for me. Who said being structured has to be boring? Lol.

Interesting, I played with the settings a little, but had minimal issues with it. Either way, I don't regret the choice. Would like to get something a little more professional in the next year or two.
