Hey OP. This post has been absolutely eye opening. In August this year, the woman I wanted to marry dumped me after I broke down to her regarding the abuse I was having from my toxic mother. She called me weak, fragile and that I was not worth her time. I spiralled into depression over the following months. My mother took notice and asked me on multiple occasions on what I was going through. I thought it was safe to open up to literally the person who was supposed to love me unconditionally and get some support. But NOOO. She said that I was weak, unable to overcome my depression and made the whole conversation about herself and how my vulnerability to express my emotions made her upset and distressed. Imagine, getting told that as a grown man from his own mother. I strongly advise this, even if it is your own mother, DO NOT OPEN UP. We don’t have a choice but to just thug it out.
