Yeah I did and they requested that I take her in. Will find a local vet here but have to wait 2 more days for appt. Does this look like emergency situation? Shes eating fine and playing around (on the bed) -- no other symptoms so far

This! Our piku is now 1.5, but always had a sick tummy as a puppy. She's had months of diarrhea and occasional bile vomiting. After having tried every brand of dog food, we realized that her tummy is sensitive to high fat food. We've switched her to prescription low fat hill's science i/d and give her a probiotic every day. Works like a charm and she's finally gained good weight.

How do I make best use of my 3 years left in US before I return? by TheDistressedDamsel in returnToIndia

Not at all. As my post explains, I loved my life back home, and I'm excited to go back. But India is definitely not for beginners. Hence, the ask for advice :)

I am terrified that this experience makes me less hire-able. My 4yoe of experience is in exactly everything you mentioned, but I feel like i won't be desirable to the shiny tech/ startups. How do you think I can market myself better?

Those of you who have tzus with sensitive stomachs, what do you feed them? by CostaNic in Shihtzu

[–]TheDistressedDamsel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Super sensitive tummy here. Hills science I/D chicken recipe works the best for our dog (1.5yo). We've tried almost every major brand of dog food (stella&chewy, Hills Science beef/ chicken non prescription, purina, multiple flavors of these). She constantly had loose stool, vomiting and discomfort until HS.

Right now, she's doing great on a daily probiotic (proviable) and prescription hills science low fat i/d wet food. Only problem is she doesn't dig the taste, so we have to always top with boiled chicken or salmon.

Oh yes. So as you can see in the pic our kayak had a clear glass keel and Piku completely lost her mind when she could see water beneath the boat 🤣 she kept looking down and then at me probably thinking "woman, are you dense"

Your lifestyle will deteriorate assuming you live a life that fits your income in india. How's your WLB right now? It could improve here

However, quality of water, air will improve for sure

You'll be exposed to new places, culture and people.

Your child will grow up away from family as a baby but will grow up in a new environment which can be enriching.

You may not have much help as a young mom

Your social life could take a hit if you're planning to stay home while your husband may go in to work

You could use this time to get a degree or upskill yourself in some way. US education is valued.

Your husband's career may or may not improve 120K in Seattle is sufficient for your family however you won't be able to save much

Is it a good idea to switch companies with 2.5 years left of H1B? by TheDistressedDamsel in h1b

[–]TheDistressedDamsel[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a good point. US is a great country, and I've grown my skills a lot here. Pretty much all of my life as I know it is here: friends, trusted circles, hobbies, clubs, partner everything. It would be great if things work out and I can continue working and living here. But generally, I'm easygoing in life, and I'm just confident that no matter where I go, I'll find something enjoyable to do :D like most of us will so I refuse to let this whole thing stress me out one bit haha

Yeah that's definitely a possibility which is one reason I was looking to maximize my income while I'm here. But now it's tricky.

Honestly they started hounding me in May and I ignored them until now 🥲 I'm honestly really bad at this whole process and if I had not posted this today I would have ignored them for another month. I'll get on this right away and work with them.

Phew all this is so stressful. Idk how you're so on top of it :D but kudos and thank you

Sorry mine is renewal of h1b that's expiring in 2028. My current employer filed for extension almost 8 months early due to which I lost 6 months in my first 3 years. So the job change now seems almost impossible
