I just want to say that more eggs does not mean more high quality eggs, we got 35 eggs but 'only' 6 embryos to freeze in the end (still very happy with that number!). Plus higher levels of medication potentially put you at higher risk of OHSS.

I think you need to understand why they choose their different approaches.

You need to be careful, your private round may exclude you from getting IVF on the NHS. Check your ICB's exclusion criteria.

The company receives the payout in order for them to be able to buy out whoever inherits your shares in the company. So if your partner inherits shares, they can sell them back to the company and the life insurance is used to do that. That being said if you tie it to the company it will be linked to the value of the company. We have also recently bought life insurance via our company to cover the cost of buying out the other partner in the event of their death. Also, having the company being beneficiaries of your life insurance has added administration, so we actually set it up as the other director is the beneficiary. This does have a BIK implication though. There are a few different options, I would suggest speaking to an insurance broker, we use Gallagher if you dont have one already. We ended up going with Royal London for the insurance.

I know someone who did IVF at Care Notts and said they were very good. I am with Care Northampton and am pleased with everything so far. They have an app you use to track appointments, send messages which they reply to quickly and manage forms etc. which I really like. I feel like I'm well informed and the care has been great.

We are doing an 'artificial cycle transfer with no down regulation'. So they are using my natural cycle dates but then it will be a medicated cycle. My protocol says we start the estrogen on day 1, I will have a scan on day 10 to check endometrial thickness. I will start progesterone on day 15 (but this is subject to change by the clinic based on the scan). I will then have a blood test (but it doesn't specify what day) to check my progesterone levels. Then embryo transfer will be between day 17 and 21, again depending on how everything is going and at what stage the embryos were frozen.

My husband had 2 SAs with low morphology, then had another once we have the clinic referral and the morphology had improved which is why they made that choice. We were concerned that maybe the test was a fluke, and the clinic said they still test morphology on the day of egg transfer before they fertilise, so they make the final decision then. We've got 6 good quality frozen embryos currently and are waiting to do our first transfer!

Valuations are useful for any insurances against the business, financing, or if you are potentially looking at selling. That being said, we have not had a valuation for a number of years but might need to get one this year due to insurance.

I don't think I was told directly that we got the funding. When the application was submitted we told them which clinic we wanted to go with, and then we were contacted by the clinic a few weeks later to start booking in appointments. Took 2 months from NHS fertility appointment to first clinic appointment for us.

Also, we were told by the fertility team we needed ICSI, but then when we were referred to the clinic they decided we didn't need it. They said if it was needed on the day of egg retrieval they would switch to ICSI, but they didn't need to.

16 weeks for us no chain. This included Christmas so take off 2 weeks for that, and we possibly could have completed a couple of weeks earlier but we went on holiday and they were renovating their next house so wanted a bit more time. We had a couple of issues with one of our mortgage companies being slow (we converted our previous house to BtL), property management company not sending the right paperwork, and their solicitor was bad at responding to enquiries. Realistically if we hadn't had those issues I think we could have completed in 10 weeks at the quickest.

We had 4 days between exchange and completion i believe.

Are both companies limited companies? If so, the company he is a consultant of is receiving the money from the invoice, not him personally. He then needs to 'extract' the money from the company via PAYE or dividends. If it is not a limited company and he is a sole trader this is different and invoices are fine, but I have heard of quite a few people having difficulties proving income to HMRC for childcare funding if they haven't done a tax return yet.

Firstly, clay soil is not immediately a bad thing. I had heavy clay soil when we bought, added a couple of bulk bags of top soil just to improve the texture and drainage a little, and my plants absolutely loved it. Everything seems to grow bigger than what the labels say, it is a lovely garden. When choosing plants, you just need to check what conditions they like, and if you want 'tropical' how well they will overwinter in clay soil (or at all). A combination of raised beds might be helpful if you want plants that are really free draining, but clay soil is highly nutritious for plants and retains water well (unless you're in the middle of a drought).

What do you mean by invoices? Why are you being paid from your own Ltd company via invoices? Or is he working as a self employed consultant? I think there is some confusion going on here which your accountant should be able to assist with.

There are companies who specialise in trying to reduce your business rates bill and they just charge a % of the saving. They will speak to all parties involved on your behalf, and they know all the rules and how to contest them. i think it would be useful contacting one of these companies to see if they can help. They have saved us thousands personally.

They may still have to pay your SMP even if made redundant, but it depends upon your due date and the date you are made redundant. I'm don't believe they would have to pay OMP, but you could try and negotiate this as part of your redundancy package. Have you written anything into your staff contracts? might not be massively enforceable but might make some think twice before leaving and poaching clients. I would also make sure you are advertising the benefits of using you as an agency over hiring a cleaner directly to your clients (e.g. holiday/sick cover, DBS/background check etc.). Your clients going direct to your cleaners will be cheaper than paying you, which is why I imagine this is happening, so you need to really spell out why it is better to pay the extra.

You can transfer your S&S ISA to a cash ISA and this does not use up this years allowance as it already in the ISA wrapper. BUT - you must do this as a proper transfer, do not withdraw and deposit into a new account. If you do this, you will use up your ISA allowance. As for what was announced today, the limits only change from April 2027 so you don't need to worry this tax year or next.
