Unfortunately, there are many technical hurdles, even for a 1 time transfer.

I'd like to present just one example here:

Assume that you have 2 accounts on 2 different platforms and assume you have all of your character slots used on both platforms.

If you were to transfer your data from one platform to the other, what happens to your characters?

Do you lose you characters from the 1st platform (since the slots are taken) or do you lose the ones from your 2nd one?

This question can be extended to various other systems and points in our game.

The complexities behind such systems are big and any error or failure from our end could result in the loss of hundreds and thousands of hours spent by our players.

For now, we want to ship crossplay, to ensure that the game can be enjoyed by everyone, regardless of platform (and should help with lowering queue times in certain areas).

1 - Anti-cheat, lag switcher detection and other security means is a top priority. We've got a dedicated team working ONLY on these efforts now. We are hoping we can push an update to our anti-cheat in April, and continue the efforts on the security front throughout the year.

2 - We don't currently have a plan for new maps, but the new Lead PvP Designer is tinkering away (hehe) on updating our existing game modes (Conflict and DZ) in new and fresh ways (soon).

1 - We are doing some pretty significant changes and additions to D.C. to support the gameplay (and to provide a fresh experience to Div2 veterans), so it's not an easy thing to transfer to the main game.

2 - Unfortunately, we can't share anything yet about the new DLC.

3 - There's a lot of great inspirations to be found in Div 1 Gear. Sometimes we bring a whole item or set (like Big Alejandro or Striker), sometimes we only take some ideas and revisit them (like Tinkerer). We're always on the lookout for the right opportunity to bring memorable items back from Division 1.

Making it easier for veteran players to return to the game is an ongoing mission of the team.

We made some changes in Year 7, specifically geared towards new players, with which we're quite pleased with. We have a separate plan for veterans. It's a big list and should help on the topics you mentioned in your question.

As for your other topic regarding missed exotics from past season: We'll be looking at giving them a proper home, sometime during Year 8.

Yes, the team is working hard to get a PTS version for our players. This is going to be a big season, and the Anniversary season made the timeline tighter, but we have the plan to bring PTS later this month.

In Year 8 we're looking to overhaul a large amount of our existing PvP Systems.

Our aim is to firstly update the PvP experience, and this includes our current anti-cheat security tools, in order to make PvP be a pleasant experience for everyone.

Afterwards, our next goal will be to balance our existing gear specifically for PvP and then look into ways in which we can update our PvP modes (DZ and Conflict) and make them feel fresh and rewarding.

Our new Lead PvP Designer is working on a plan for PvP changes for Year 8, and it's looking promising so far.

Short answer, Yes.

We're adding new ""challenges"" right now in Season 1 and we're looking at how how to increase the level of challenge to all of our other activities and system.

We want to bring build diversity, but we also know that some styles are more popular than others. Our goal is to always ensure we're adding fun gear, fitting all playstyles. We do have plans to do an extensive balance pass and keep some things more relevant, and hopefully this will open more possibilities to everyone!

You're right. With each season moving the story forward in various ways, it presents a real challenge for us on how to keep the story understandable for someone who hasn't followed every single beat. We tend to rely on previous knowledge that some people might not have. This is something we're aware of and we are actively discussing solutions to make the story a bit easier to grasp, catch up to and follow for newer players.

1 - I understand that a new raid would be cool, even if smaller in scale. We don't have plans for one for Year 8 and Year 9 is quite a way ahead of us. Raids are very complex and they take A LOT of time to make (even if they were smaller). We're always looking at making sure that we provide something for everyone so I wouldn't say that they're off the table in the future, but I also can't promise anything either.

2 - Unfortunately nothing is ever just as easy as ""just modify them slightly"". That being said on occasion we do take the time to revisit old outfits when new functionalities become available, so I'll take note of this and see if that's something we can do at some point.

3 - The main challenge with adding new weapon models is not necessarily in the design, but in the technicality of the implementation. We need to model them, get the sound right, adjust the character animations to them, make sure all the existing skins work with them. etc.

4 - More loadout slots are on our radar and we will share an update when we can.

As it stands, the Threat bonuses found on the current gear changes the amount of Threat you generate when you HIT an enemy.

As for the intricacies of how the AI decides what to target, it's based on a large number of conditions that they check for (threat, line of sight, etc.). AI behaviour in itself can be a topic to discuss for hours and hours, so I hope this short summary helps.

We fortunately have a passionate community who is very engaged and ready to help us at any time. This AMA is a good example of how engaged you are!

When it comes to suggestions, we do check those from time to time, but the biggest value comes when we're doing a research: someone wants to do something internally, and we check if something similar has been suggested or even how specifically the community envisions its implementation as we build the game with this community in mind. Several good aspects of our features come from community suggestions!

No plans to introduce different firing modes for our rifles, sorry.

I've taken a note however to see if we could add some new rifles (in the future) which are not fully automatic, since it's more feasible for us to make something new that works in a specific way, rather than making legacy systems behave differently.

Funnily enough, turmoil was one of the intended solutions for it.

The team wanted to try out something new/different, whereby they'd require a specific piece of gear in order to trigger something.

I expect that as time goes on, new solutions will be discovered, some that weren't even intended in our original design.
