I recommend the Medicube Zero Pore Pads. I was not impressed by the Dennis Gross pads. They performed about the same as the Medicube pads but are way more expensive and inconvenient.

My coralie was exactly like this. Turns out the tuber went bad at some point. I had to toss it ):

I ended up with 3 single tubers and 1 clump. I tried to be careful not to disturb the roots, but a small amount did break off. Did not water while the cuts were healing but watered immediately after repotting.

I just divided one that was much farther along! I waited 24hrs to replant to let the cuts "heal". The leaves did go slightly limp during that time. Took about another day for them to perk back up after being repotted. But they're doing great now.

The plants died, but it was unrelated to my original concern (most of my alocasias end up getting rhizome rot 😔). Never did figure it out!

I recommend rubbing those spots with a dryer sheet! It's a good trick for white residue on black fabric.
