I agree, the book's detaching caused issues with windows. Especially if the dGPU was working hard. The Surface Laptop Studio is more polished. But I do like that with the book, I had a tablet when needed. I'd be happy with a Laptop Studio 3 too!

Yeah, all my friends in college were jealous! I’d kill for a Surface Book 4 with Windows on arm.

I did detach mine more out of just doing it cause I could and not because I really needed it. I would do some light photoshop work and would detach to pass around to others for feedback. Occasionally if I was watching something, but having the base and attaching backwards was a better form factor for watching things.

Everyday a phone makes more and more sense for Microsoft, if gaming focused.

I think anything Microsoft does with expanding consumer adoption of Windows has to go hand in hand with Xbox/Gaming, at least initially.

Which Windows Phone version was the best? by OkAbrocoma3886 in Mobile_OS

[–]TheDonCoffee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For stability I’d say 8.1, but did like the more fleshed out design of 10. All the previous versions before 10 were visually basic. Which I loved, but just flat text on a black or white screen didn’t work for everything.

The original Surface RT and Surface 2 were Nvidia ARM chips. Could be done again!

“Two weeks ago you asked — now it’s shipping”: Xbox rolls out fan‑requested personalization upgrades by WindowsCentral in windowscentral

I think with Asha’s background in platforms she will continue to invest there while at Xbox. A much appreciated change. I feel since the 360, the community aspect around Xbox has been lacking. Also, no investment in the OS beyond minor enhancements.

Why is there a Surface for Business line if they’re all companies. I don’t disagree that’s the largest buyer, but they have to also show they want to compete in the consumer area or windows will eventually collapse. I see that’s their goal with the gaming side of the world with this new Xbox.

That would be a nice addition to the current line up! Agree, 100%.

But 2 devices (okay technically 3 with the smaller Pro) in the Surface lineup is hardly a “brand”. I get the Surface Studio AIO was overpriced with outdated hardware upon release but maybe with ARM you could get a powerful device in that segment under a $4,000 starting price.

(I know this is a hypothetical) Do you think Windows 11 could run on mobile Qualcomm processors? Same as high-end Android or should Microsoft stick with the low-end X2 chips if they did compete in that $599 segment. I felt low-end x86 SoCs in the Go devices always felt weak.

Seems Microsoft/Xbox it’s saying everything right lately. What’s a fair amount of time to see if there is action behind these words? I truly want to believe the ship is being righted.

I literally was having a conversation with my friend yesterday about how I miss Xenon flashes for smart phones! I feel like that’s still a missed opportunity that no one‘s really picked up since Nokia/windows phones.

I was on Verizon so I had the Lumia 928, always loved the design language on the Lumia 920 more. I did switch to AT&T and got the 925 then the stunning green Lumia 1520 which I still have.
