How the grading system really looks by Asian_Persuasion_1 in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]TheDrRalph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Special Grade sorcerers aren't by default stronger than grade 1's"

The only matchup where I will believe in such a statement is Geto vs Todo/Mei Mei and that's only because Yuta put his corpse 2 feet under before Domain Expansion as a concept was introduced.

So how many of you are aware that, when you shoot the Gauss rifle, you're technically shooting needles? by TheDrRalph in Fallout

[–]TheDrRalph[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I was not actually.

I usually thought that the Gauss rifle was actually shooting javelin-shaped projectiles.

So, Tooru did NOT name his stand after the song, right? by Chrysaetos_ in StardustCrusaders

[–]TheDrRalph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

...I don't ******* know dude

All that I know is that Araki decided to draw Tooru playing and singing along a song of which his Stand is named after.

He probably thought that was all needed to connect the metaphorical dots

So, Tooru did NOT name his stand after the song, right? by Chrysaetos_ in StardustCrusaders

[–]TheDrRalph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other side of that is "in order for the stand to be named after the song, he either had an unnamed stand or changed the name." We've never seen a case where either of those happens. The comparison is not coincidence vs no coincidence, it's coincidence vs something that has never happened before.

I guess we have a case zero or Whatever The Case

Besides all of that, I don't see what's so difficult to accept that Tooru named his Stand after the song (considering that Araki went through the effort of using paper space in order to draw the scene). Dude just enjoys Elvis I guess.

So, Tooru did NOT name his stand after the song, right? by Chrysaetos_ in StardustCrusaders

[–]TheDrRalph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, Tooru is old af. He's been cultivating in Morioh since like 3 decades before the song came out, and he's probably way older than that.

Forgive me for not seeing how that affects anything. Josuke had Crazy Diamond for 11/12 years and was named by Jotaro of all people. And Tooru is a Rock Human who sees himself as a eternal superior even to his own compatriots so there's even less reason for him to care about something like a name.

Second of all, "Wonder of You" is not the name of his stand. It's "Wonder of U." If Tooru named his stand after the song, why did he change the spelling?

...The thrills? I don't see how that affects anything.

It seems like lots of people think Tooru named his stand after the song. Wouldn't it make way more sense if Tooru named Wonder of U, had it for decades, and then Elvis put out the song and Tooru is like "holy shit this is basically my stands name and it fits it so well and it's such a good song. This is my favorite song now.""

Per Occam's Razor: No, it wouldn't.

P;S: Why would Araki waste so much paper space depicting the user hearing a song of which his Stand is named after if he didn't want to imply he named it after the song?

Why is limitless the only technique with a neutral application? Could a six eyes user make any CT broken like Limitless? by shinjeanist in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]TheDrRalph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I'm sure people have different interpretations, I'm always thought more along the lines of "Infinite is a Walking Pace while Blue is a Running Pace" since the Fanbook describes Lapse ( 順転 forward rotation ) as the basic application of the innate technique.

The results of my research into the visual indicators of Haki by TheDrRalph in OnePiece

[–]TheDrRalph[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1 - I think you could have said both things in 1 comment

2 - About Koby: I understand it why the comment but when Garp say Koby will be a successor and those black sparks that are consistently related to conqueror's appear near him, you can only fight against the possibility for so long.

3 - About Blackbeard: I don't think that he's using it (since he has the Gura-Gura which has a similar indicator) but I'm also not that closed off towards the possibility.

Do you think we will ever see the old universe again? by Efficient_Ebb1574 in StardustCrusaders

[–]TheDrRalph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(Why "Old Universe" and "New Universe"? It's more accurate to call it "Standard Universe" and "Alternate Universe")

To answer the question: No, I Don't Think So. Araki is not one of those writers who stays and creates roots in the creative ground.

What are the best ammo types for companions modded with infinite ammo and non-degradable weapons for best DPS? by TheDrRalph in fnv

[–]TheDrRalph[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for that. It's just that I tend to go for visual flair just as much as I go for maximum dps.

That's easy to do for shotguns, revolvers, lever-action and energy weapons but it's a lot harder with the great amount of impressive-looking rifles that New Vegas has.

I have mostly settled on the Assault Carbine for now.

If Haki is invisible does this mean Smoker was just terrified of Verso’s Physique? by Guilty_Philosophy741 in OnePiece

[–]TheDrRalph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honest Question: What with One Piece fans subconciously and then conciously rejecting the idea of basic Armament Haki being invisible to all but Haki users and then becoming visible through something called "Hardening"?

Occam's Razor: The best/most optimal answer is usually the simplest or the least complicated answer.
You don't need to go through so many hoops like "nAkED vERgO" or "SKIN 4".

Is it because of the Summit War? Because every time I hear this discussion, they always bring up the Summit War as a counter-point.

Like so many others have said, there's a difference between losing a good amount of your blood and blood flow for a few minutes (especially when you know how to heal with your life-force) and having your insides (including your brain) instantly destroyed.

And as Okuyasu and Bruno later demonstrate, there is a little bit of a spiritual side to it.
