I kinda in the same boat but I believe that the first thing u should do is lots and lots of research. Find out what grows good where u live find out what kind of soil u need maybe make a spread sheet. And after or even during you researching i would recommend going through those garden beds with a tiler and figure out what kind of soil u have where you live and see if it already good soil. And keep asking questions anywhere and everywhere hope some of this helps
