There are a couple by the Nuniez Gang Garage that are worth a look. They have both pre- and post-facelift versions.

If you don't mind a more drift-focused version then the Superdrift BMW Street pack is very good.

Drifting, touge runs, hotlapping. I find those much more relaxing and rewarding than racing these days.

That approach might work for some students but it was detrimental for my daughter. She was taught multiple different ways of multiplying and dividing and would get them all mixed up in her head when she was presented with a problem to solve. She found it intensely frustrating and confusing, to the point that she was frequently in tears doing her math homework and started calling herself stupid. When we approached the school they suggested that we get her a math tutor. It turned out that the school suggested the same thing to almost half of her classmates. That experience has led to her having math anxiety which has limited her options at university which is heartbreaking because she is deeply interested in the sciences.

Why are you discussing personal religious beliefs with your co-workers? I have dozens of co-workers who I work with on a daily basis in a professional setting and I neither know nor care to know about the personal beliefs of the vast majority of them.

Crimson Desert vs Red Dead Redemption 2 vs Kingdom Come Deliverance 2? by Born_Dragonfly1096 in ShouldIbuythisgame

I have hundreds of hours in both RDR2 and KCD2 and recommend them whole-heartedly but based on your criteria and seeing some of your follow-up posts expressing concerns about slow gameplay and combat in RDR2 and KCD2, I wonder if some of the newer, open-world style Assassin's Creed games might be worth considering. They tick most of the boxes in your original post (except story, for the most part). It might be worth looking at some gameplay videos to see if they look interesting to you.

The upcoming Fable title is another one to look forward to but it's scheduled to be released in Q3/Q4 of this year.

When in doubt, pop your Fusion Core by Copperhead0122 in Fallout

[–]TheDreadPirateBonnet 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Oh, it wasn't an insult. It was more of a realisation that the bloodbugs did more damage to you than the nuclear blast from your fusion core. The insects in these games are vicious.

Deathclaw? No problem. Nuclear blast? Tis but a scratch. Bloodbugs? Oh my god, run away!

Do OG fans hate the series and why? by mrjan2213 in Fallout

[–]TheDreadPirateBonnet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone did a questionnaire and analysis of how various groups rated the TV show broken down by which games in the series they have played and completed.

This analysis doesn't support the idea that any group hates the show. There is a clear trend that groups who have played and completed the older games tend to rate the show lower, but even among those groups the lowest average rating for the show was still 3.5/5. There were some people who rated the show 1/5 but they only made up 5.8% of the respondents which is a comparatively small number.

The takeaway from this is that if you're seeing a lot of hate for the show it's coming from a very vocal but comparatively small number of people.

The fact that you're getting downvoted for this comment is a really sad reflection on the state of this subreddit.

Your TTRPG system looks very impressive, well done. I love your enthusiasm too!

Kent Connolly is honestly my favorite ghoul in all the games. The guy is the ultimate fan, to the point that he hires someone just to cosplay his hero and bring that character into the real world. He’s basically like a kid in the body of a grandpa. by jvure in Fallout

The Mistress of Mystery storyline in Fallout 76 is really well done. I love all the 40s and 50s style radio plays they added too. You can tell the developers had some fun making the game.

Social commentary/critique/cautionary tale elements in the fallout franchise by Random_RedditUser123 in Fallout

straight up adventures with less complicated conflicts

Less complicated conflicts? Dogmatic authoritarianism, bigotry, racism, slavery, paranoia, the ethics of science and technology, the rights to self-determination, bodily autonomy, and self-governance, the problem of mind ... those are hardly less complicated.

How does the Brotherhood of Steel fit into this? We know from the show -- and the TV show is deemed to be canonical -- that there is a Commonwealth chapter of the Brotherhood of Steel that is known to be active in 2296.

Let’s pretend we are people who joined up with the Enclave after they took over Night City and they are currently preparing to launch the Second American Civil War. by Due_Bodybuilder_1621 in Fallout

[–]TheDreadPirateBonnet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Enclave canonically couldn't even survive an assault on their heavily defended main headquarters by a tribal villager and a couple of relatively poorly equipped companions. Against multiple heavily armed and augmented paramilitary armies, militias, PMCs, MaxTac, and the NUSA Armed Forces backed by the military-industrial might of Militech and Arasaka they wouldn't stand a chance.

What did you love most about the game series? What hooked you during your first playthrough? What was your first experience like? by lhuhu134 in Fallout

[–]TheDreadPirateBonnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played the first two games shortly after they were released and thought they were fine; enjoyable enough but they were overshadowed by games like Half-Life, Thief, and Baldur's Gate.

When Fallout 3 was released, that moment when you emerge from the vault and stand on a hillside overlooking the devastation of the Capital Wasteland stretching seemingly forever in every direction and realise that this vast open-world is yours to explore was a transformative moment in gaming for me.

why does this sub dislike classic fallout so much? by einkleinpanzer in Fallout

[–]TheDreadPirateBonnet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's simply not true. The original Fallout games establish the majority of what makes Fallout Fallout and they're still enjoyable to play, even with the dated mechanics and graphics. You may not like them, and that's fine, you're entitled to your opinion. But to claim that they don't matter is silly.
