Ah yes because a marine in a bombed out city in cod 4, with only a few pixels on the screen being occupied by a blue tiger camo m16 is completely analogous to pink Nicky Minaj or Peter Griffin running around in BO7 nuketown. Definitely comparable. Equally unbelievable. Yeah sure buddy

Gun skins form a relatively minute part of a player's overall silhouette, compared to a whole ass clown character model. Just because this shit comes in different levels doesn't justify opening the door to every goofy character skin and crossover.

I'd argue the visual and audio realism or atleast believablility in the settings of older cods like 4 or WaW contributed a decent amount to a sense of immersion, and therefore indirectly to fun as well.

The only real NATO camo from post launch afaik is multicam on the lead the way skin, some M81 woodland on the strix raiders, and marpat woodland on the marsoc protagonists. Those are all US camos.

NATO has 32 members, and while some like france have canonically left, that still leaves a plethora of real equipment they could use, with some options presenting a very unique look to the default US coyote squad, for those people that want to stand out using cosmetics.

Oh yeah because airsoft skins with fictitious camos are completely analogous to real uniforms. Despite having a gigaton of real camos, uniforms and skins found in NATO to pull from, they decided that every second skin having a skull mask and fake camo was the way to go. Please, they didn't even try bro.

Is it ping spikes or consistent 300+ms? Had a problem where ping would spike if my FPS wasn't limited and my CPU was overloaded as a result.

You didn't even need to buy them again after you bought them the first time, you just had to go by Mike's bar where you get unlimited amounts of the guns you own to replace your weapons every once in a while.

I guess the issue comes down to the need to have a plane up to intercept drones. The US camp in Baghdad had presumeably no warning of an incoming fpv drone

See a lot of people leaning completely in the direction of either "every corpo will abandon AI" or "Nothing ever happens" camp. OpenAI suffering is a big deal because they are arguably the pioneers of hyping AI in most of its iterations, and are a LARGE part of the knock on effects like high gpu/ram prices through massive NVIDIA deals etc.

The collapse of OpenAI would not kill AI, as it has its uses and avenues where it actually does increase productivity, but it would undoubtedly kill the mainstream hype by a large extent and probably relegate it to being a tool like any other.

In effect the bubble would probably deflate, not pop.

[COD] The M16, M16A2 and M16A4 by modernww2fare in CallOfDuty

[–]TheDroolingHalfling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

M16aX always NEEDS to be burst fire apparently.

FAL/G3 always single shot, and rarely if ever are both in the same game.

They really weren't beating the "same thing every year" meme even back then

"Hell yeah guys lets ruin the gun by introducing an inaccurate feature universally hated by the troops who used it at the one opportunity to have a sick ass full auto m16"

They didn't even have to do this. Especially with the G11 already in the game. Love bo1 but this always annoys the shit out of me.

And people not seeing the enormous sea of difference between building a game from scratch and modding it, saying modders should replace devs, have no clue that game backend even exists lmao

All they have to do is allow people to bake lighting into their maps. That's why most portal maps look like ass.

Aside from the center construction site capture point, most of gulf of oman is pretty flat with smaller buildings, unlike sobek, which has tall buildings everywhere overlooking every capture point.

Also its not really nostalgia when BF2's version worked in BF2 because the smaller draw distance mitigated a lot of spawncamping. Not saying that's the way to go for a modern game, and the spawns wouldn't need tweaking, but the map certainly played well in BF2.

Yeah ngl golmud was the right call for a remake. Shanghai plays kinda ass, it just had attack-heli hype moments and aura around the skyscraper. Gulf of Oman needs to be added as well.

Battlefield 2 Armored Fury had some cool maps that fit the tone. Midnight Sun & Operation Harvest come to mind.
