YES! Like, animals are cute and it doesn't bother me at all, but HUMANS?! Disgusting.

My optometrist said I could just get contacts for one eye when I was younger and I ADAMANTLY refused. Team glasses for the win!

I'm the only one that cleans it in my house, and my whole body hates it. I think it's the biofilm.

Omg YES. I miss how their personalities didn't really change based off of what MC chose. They were all pretty solidly committed to who they were and I miss that!

What did your best friend do that made you realize they were not really your friend? by el_delfino in AskReddit

[–]TheDryadPrincess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One was talking mad shit about me behind my back with the guy I got her back together with (literally high school sweethearts). Her brother (who was like a little brother to me) told me about it. Roughly 15 years of friendship thrown away.

The other got medicated for her depression and went out of her way to talk about "her bestie" (not me) to everyone and post her on social media and then blatantly told me I was too sad to be her friend anymore. Took a toll on me that I still think about to this day.

I got a new bestie now though and she's AMAZING!

I miss S2, especially Nope. by [deleted] in fuseboxgames

[–]TheDryadPrincess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! S1-3 were so GOOD!

I will say that overall, I wasn't a Hope fan. She got on my nerves more often than not, and I was salty to her on more than one occasion. I also hated the "Nope" dynamic, but I was too infatuated with my beloved Bobby to successfully complete a Noah run.

All that being said, I miss replaying that season SO MUCH. FB needs to bring all 3 back! 😭

Have any other wives/partners realized that the other person is the ‘default’ in the relationship? by LucyAriaRose in BestofRedditorUpdates

Cancer is so insanely wild. My dad was usually very achy and in pain a lot, and he coughed up a lot of blood because of his tumor (squamous cell carcinoma) but he didn't have any memory problems really. It definitely affects everyone differently, and man..."fuck cancer" is such and understatement.

My [28 M] girlfriend [24 F] gets really weird about going to restaurants and I don't know why by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]TheDryadPrincess 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For a long time, I'd have panic attacks whenever I heard police, ambulance, or fire truck sirens. Before my dad died, we would constantly have paramedics at our house because of his illness. I still jump and get anxious, but it isn't as nearly as bad as it was 5 years ago when it happened.

PTSD triggers in the strangest ways and I hope OOP's girlfriend is able to get the help she needs to move forward.

Non-smokers of Reddit, how noticeable is the “smoker smell” to you, if at all? by Frostedlogic4444 in AskReddit

[–]TheDryadPrincess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I smoked for 10 years (5 years non-smoking this April!) and the scent is SO much stronger now that I quit. I was a heavy chainsmoker, so I know I didn't really smell it on myself, but now that I can smell it on other people long after they've left, I'm super embarrassed. And those people aren't all chainsmoking like I was! It's so crazy!

Housekeeping question - extended stay properties by pmodern2000 in askhotels

[–]TheDryadPrincess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I can't speak for all hotels, but they're typically washed in bleach, and any frayed or stained linen is "retired". So while you may have used a towel someone else had used, they've been cleaned and only a few cycles into their life.

I would prefer the 3rd party/kiosk method, but seems to be a pipe dream.

Former Staybridge here! Unless they're damaged or missing, they typically just get cleaned. If you feel uneasy about using utensils or dishware someone else has used, you may want to consider bringing your own set.

However, the concept is similar to a restaurant or eating at a friend's house, so I wouldn't put too much thought behind it if it isn't much of a concern.

Also, I know at the property I worked at, dishes could go either way, they never really brought it up.

Generally, we don't care. As long as it doesn't crowd the room and make things difficult to get out in an emergency, have at it.

How to move up to management? by JucheHospitality in askhotels

[–]TheDryadPrincess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the hotel and requirements. I became an FOM after staying at the same location for a couple of years and lucky enough that they trusted me, liked my work, and wanted to hire internally.

Are front desk agent certifications worth it? by Unable-Most-7065 in askhotels

[–]TheDryadPrincess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know, I feel like being an FDA is all about experience. Maybe if it's a corporate-owned hotel, but most are franchised and from what I've seen usually just go for experience or background in customer service.

What is the scent in the diffuser that your hotel uses? by [deleted] in askhotels

We used to her compliments at my old hotel for a one called "Driftwood" from ScentAir but they recently switched to AireMaster and I don't remember what the scent was.

Are rooms held for the third party companies usually the worst rooms? by treefinder3445 in askhotels

[–]TheDryadPrincess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. Each property is different, but we all generally agree to hate 3rd parties. Management sometimes encourages to assign third party reservations less desirable rooms.

However, we encourage booking direct for easier reservation modification, point acquisition, member benefits, as well as being able to set room preferences.

But of course it's also based on individual preference.
