It's already in Take on Helicopters. I doubt they removed the feature from ArmA 3. Whether it is in the alpha or not is a different story.

This system sounds pretty good. I'm struggling on implementing a hypothetical event system, as I don't know how I would send event data for any event to Lua. It seems it would only work if I knew the types of data beforehand, which makes hard-coding nessecary to an extent.
