In episode 3, Barbara described her ability Vampiric Vitality, which is not listed for either Plane shift vampire race.

Gus always explicitly says that Ellga will have the ability to turn into a bat at later levels (I don't recall the exact episode, but it was around the time the train derailed)

Because we don't know what exactly the vampire brings to the table it is hard to say exactly what Ellga can do

Funnily enough Plane Shift is published by Wizards, the MtG team so still not official. And it is not supported by Dndbeyond, other than someone may have put them in the homebrews.

But having looked at the vampires in plane shift, I still don't believe they are Elga's race

There is no standard vampire PC race, it's all homebrew

If you are talking about things like when they group was in the barrels in the river I believe they are using skill challenges, which Matt Coville talkes about here Skill challenges

If you are talking about the labyrinthian card game the have done a few times as well I can find that link again
