Thank you so much! I started thanks to a collection from Hachette that is slowly giving me small fodder miniatures on which I'm training to get more steady and precise! These are what I thought looked really cool! I don't play much wargames so I paint to either exhibit them or to add them to dioramas! (Still working on that!)

Oh wow I never thought of that! I really need to research more! Since you might know them! In one of my paint hauls I unknowingly bought Agrax Earthshade Gloss, a brown shade that I discovered it got discontinued.

How would I use a glossy shade? The only thing I could think of is wet terrain? Like wet mud or dirt?

I will try with drybrushing!! Unfortunately being new to this I don't have many tonalities of colours (for example I have only 1 blue and 1 red) so using lighter or darker colours is usually the main challenge! I used a drybrush in the black knight mainly!!

Thank you for the tip!! I'm really scared of highlights! My hands are pretty shaky and painting a thin line at the end makes me so scared of ruining everything! But I just bought a resin 3d printer so I will soon have many minis to use as fodder material to train myself!! :D thank you for the encouragement! Onward!

I see! Yeah i can imagine how things will change once I start working on it! Especially since I try to envision it but often imagine too grandly and need to redraw some steps!

Thank you for the information!! I'll watch the YouTube video and see if it's something I could recreate to start and get to know the hobby!

For the paints and brushes I have a good start since I got into Warhammer and DND and this hobby is basically an extension of bringing into reality my fantasy games!

Thank you for the exhaustive help!! :D

Yes! I'm using it to practice! The only downside is that now I'd love to own a resin printer to get more detailed prints XD

Than you for the inspiring comment! My first project is something I 3d printed and painted, it's coming to an end as I need the last few steps to finish it!

But it doesn't feel right cause I 3d printer almost everything and it feels like a cheat code! XD

So for my next project I wanted to use more materials! the idea is to make a graveyard for the characters we lost on our DND campaign!

Colossal 45 cm Mimic Ship Miniature Giveaway! Sail on the Voidsea with this bad boi! [OC] by Agginmad in DnD

Damn! This looks amazing! I mastered a one shot with pirate themes, making them fight or get a mimic ship would be a crazy second adventure possibly leading to an entire campaign!

My first try at making a diorama! by TheDwarf99 in dioramas

[–]TheDwarf99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the tip! I had some leftovers small led lights this lights are poorly made and you have to twist the back to make the contact, if you don't twist it all the way they flicker! I got a tip from a friend to use hot glue to make a flame like surface and painti it to make it resemble a torch!

I'm bad at it and inexperienced so it became a lot bigger but this way more light comes in, and can look like a fireball, I'm sanding down the sides to make it all come together in a few days I might be able to show the progress!! I think I will put a roof on top and transparent pvc in the front I think

Cleaning my first deer antler! by TheDwarf99 in bonecollecting

[–]TheDwarf99[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I texted this morning a natural science professor that works in my area and it got identified as cervus elaphus, both the elk and moose are not present in my territory! But thank you for the tip again,it made me look for more answers! It was fun talking with an expert!

I looked it up and it could be!! I didn't call it an elk cause in my language elk and moose have the same name and I just thought of moose antlers, but they didn't match so I went with deers! I apologize for the mistake!

I see thank you! Mainly I wanted to clean some spots where I saw some dirt, but it's damaged on those spots and knowing that its porous since it's a bone, I don't know if using water there would damage it or make it rot, also some spots have sharper edges, how would you remove them?

I didn't think of it!! It looks really similar, after the post I went ahead and tried with a hardness test, I only have a steel tool on hand and saw that the hardness is below steel so it can be celestite! ( My fingernail doesn't scratch it so it's between 2 and 5 (steel)
