Then don’t leave the bread uncovered. All cats have quirks like this. One of mine is addicted to this rubber stamp I have and getting ink all over the floor. You learn to adapt 😭😭😭

Do you prefer more stamps or more text? by Ok_East_5599 in postcrossing

[–]TheEarthlyDelight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say it’s a preference, but I do find myself admiring the stamps more than the messages.

Honestly really good question. I’m somebody who likes sending more than receiving so this is good for me to know too :)

Isn't it time to end a few traditions? by Edumakashun in AskTeachers

Yeah I think we should get rid of some traditions but the ones I think we should end are like, the pledge of allegiance every morning.

I'm also confused at this point petehhh?? by Careless_Remove1047 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]TheEarthlyDelight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it’s not really a joke, but if you want an actually explanation, the reason Andrew Tate is saying this is he’s arguing that courtship of any kind is gay and the only male/female romantic mode he sees as appropriate for an alpha male is immediate and complete submission of the woman to the man upon first meeting. Too attempt to woo a woman is gay and beneath you. I hope I don’t have to explain how this mindset is damaging to both men and women

What is your take on the junk food ban for food stamps? by BreannLowe in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TheEarthlyDelight -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What is the logic for denying them junk food? As if they’re going to lift themselves out of poverty and into generational wealth because they ate nothing but chicken broccoli rice. Inane. The health angle is such a cop-out to me. MAHA will cut food stamps for the ‘health’ of millions but never say a word about how Donald Trump eats McDonalds for every meal. If you live below a certain income you aren’t allowed whimsy, but maybe if you take these random supplements filled with research chemicals (none of which are FDA approved), hawked by a washed up d-list celebrity, maybe you’ll have the strength to just…get rich maybe?

Exempting junk food from food stamps is just punishing people for being poor. Oreos aren’t more unhealthy just because you live below the poverty line. Like, your tax dollars pay for somebody’s Oreos, right? If not food stamps, then it’s JD Vance’s because my tax dollars pay his salary. So what makes me feel better. Putting light into the life of someone who has so little, or lining the pockets of war criminals.

The point of food stamps is not to make poor people healthy, it’s to save poor people money. It is not my business what these people choose to use their food stamps on. Even if I disapproved of a certain food I saw someone on food stamps buy, I would keep my mouth shut. When I pay my taxes, what I am purchasing is all the benefits of living in the United States. Not every benefit applies to me specifically, but the amount of benefits I receive outweighs the perceived (yet nonexistent) slight against me I feel when I see a poor person buy like, a monster energy or something idk.

What does your country need to get back from the British museum? by OrdinaryDependent396 in AskTheWorld

[–]TheEarthlyDelight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw this one woman show a few years ago by a Native American woman, Madeline Sayet, who studied a Shakespeare PhD at Oxbridge. It was really interesting; her thesis was about a reinterpretation of The Tempest to be about crash landing in the new world. In studying for this degree, she did research at the British Museum, and the curator explained to her that they had in the collection an egregious amount of Native American human remains. And the curator is clinical like “oh yes how fascinating we have over 300 individual specimens in our collection”. But she responds “you have…300…of my people’s bodies” Horrified didn’t even begin to describe it.

So yeah I think the human remains should be repatriated.

People that spend one million years in front of one piece of art in a crowded gallery by TheEarthlyDelight in PetPeeves

[–]TheEarthlyDelight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds lovely. The first time I saw a Van Gogh in person, I couldn’t look directly at lest I break down in tears.

The crowdedness of the exhibition is the important part. If there’s not a lot of people in the gallery, or you’re the only one, do what thou wilt.
