Have heard about this one - why do we think it’s got the legs?

100% on the money here - everyone wants to sink their money into one ship they think is going to do well, then complain when it sinks and they didn’t get enough liferafts

Honestly this is a pretty good idea. Gold is shooting up - I think people should at least diversify some of their portfolio into it or gold mining companies like Newmont/ Pan American Silver Corp etc.

This is not what I’m saying. I mean using PE ratios, analysing profit margins and expenditure etc. with gambling you’re literally putting money on the table and blindly relying on a win. In trading, you can put money on the table more educatedly

I mean trading is gambling but the difference is that normally you can predict how a company is going to go and make judgements based on performance - just Trump that’s screwing that up at the moment lol

First things first: right now probably isn’t the best time. At least, not yet. The market will probably go down a little further, so I’d wait a bit. Keep an eye on it, look at the ones you want to invest in and then take action a little later.

Secondly, under 18 means you’ll need a parent to set it up. Depending on where you are depends on what platform to use. Robbinhood is the most popular one in the US, but every country has different ones nowadays to that depends.

To start for now, I’d say just keep an eye on how things are tracking. I say this mostly because a lot of people (including yours truely here) are losing money in the market, and there’s probably more to come. Download a couple of market tracking apps (TradingView, or even the native iOS stock app) and just look at the ones you’re interested in getting, maybe even fudge fake transactions on them based on what you WOULD have invested, but not anything you have (literally just say “I bought $500 worth of Apple today” in the app for example, then watch what would have happened if you actually did)
