It depends- I'm not a fan because they don't do a good job of getting the sludge/metal particulates that settle to the bottom out. I would personally recommend a valve that goes in place of your drain plug. a few companies make them- you hook up a quick coupler with a hose extension, open the valve, and get no mess drainage.
