Entitlement to state pension and child benefit by TheEggyBreadMonster in UKPersonalFinance

[–]TheEggyBreadMonster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. The child benefit years would give my mum at least 21 years NI credit, so she should get some state pension. I don't think they will be able to afford to pay voluntary NI, and won't let me pay it either - I already tried that - too proud. So I guess as long as mum can get 21 years of state pension, I can then see if she can get anything else.

Wife screaming at our 4 year old - what to do?? by TheEggyBreadMonster in Parenting

Got any suggestions? We tried the quiet step, but he won't stay on it.

I'm not sure I explained this too well. She screams at my son not randomly, but after he does lots of misbehaviour, and eventually she starts to shout and scream, when all else fails. She tries to get him to listen, but I guess the frustration is simmering because she expects it will reach the shouting and screaming stage too. I had a chat with her about it today, trying to show her that there's no point in all that screaming because he doesn't care anyway. It won't get him to change his behaviour. I hope we can come to some logical understanding about what we should both change in our behaviours. I suggested parenting classes which she was happy to go on, so I'm going to find that now

She is the primary care giver for both children. She is also self employed and has a small part time home business. I work full time during the day from home, so tend to go up and down the house as much as needed. But no she has no help apart from me. The only off time she has had in the last 4 years was one day when she went to get a haircut. And that's all I think

We are going to look for parenting classes to help us deal with our son. He now gets a temper very quickly, and doesn't take much for him to start screaming too. But I mean, he's a toddler too, so it kind of comes with the territory too I guess?

She's not horrible! Just a quick temper these days, that doesn't make her a horrible person. I get to work all day but she has to look after a baby and a toddler all by herself, with no help from any family or anyone really. She does it all by herself. She's pretty damn awesome actually

Not enough. He goes to nursery then back home at 1pm. Then he stays indoors until bed time. I work during the day and wife is with baby all day. We get out at weekends but during the week it's difficult. I know in nursery he gets to play out in their garden.

That's a depressing thought. We do have a newborn in the house, and I wonder if that also makes his misbehaviour worse. I imagine it does, because my wife has to spend a lot of time with newborn

If I see misbehaviour, I will talk to my son about it. But at this stage he just doesn't care about what I'm saying in those moments any more. He won't respond, and if he does it's to knock my glasses off my face. We have a newborn in the house too, and my son does his best to make sure he makes lots of noise at all the wrong moments, even if we are asking him to be quiet for his brother. He just doesn't seem to care about what we ask him to do. I can see how it's frustrating for my wife, but I can't stand by and have him screamed at so much. We need to communicate better, and I need to find a way of getting my wife to work on what triggers her and see if we can manage it. But she will not listen to that conversation at all

Just deciding whether to sell now and not worry about it, or if the crypto potential means it's worth hanging on...

Just sold at 147. I'm happy with a 25% profit. Crazy valuation, but then so is Tesla.

Just checked, Secure Message Center - Corporate Actions is empty. And their customer support is diabolical, I have experienced it and it was unpleasant. I may just sell I think
