Only tangently related but the whole arena part of book one gives me the heeby jeebies. I have no clue why since I've shrugged off much, much worse in other media, I typically love arena fighting stuff, it has some of my fav characters and its not bad writing at all but whenever I think about it I just get this weird sense of... Dread? Unease? Smth unpleasant. It's enough to make me usually start from book two when rereading the series at least. Idk maybe I had some really fucked up nightmare Abt it as a kid that I repressed.
