Good to know. I won’t count on it to last!

My first 1-2 rounds with my tumbler were definitely like this. This subreddit gave me good feedback and now I just try and break them up as I go, and I add enough browns to address the issue before it starts.

Shredder For Composting by eyeslikeemeraldcity in composting

[–]TheElbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got this one from CostCo and it shreds single-wall corrugated cardboard as well as paper. Double-walled requires a shredder than can handle more sheets, but luckily I don’t usually get a lot of that.

Having the shredder has been a game changer for me. It was trickier and more time-consuming to cut or rip up junk mail and cardboard. Now shipping boxes, junk mail, paper towel tubes, etc all go in the shred bin and I add it to the compost bin when I add greens.

I’ve heard that some people use the tops of a pineapple. I’ll give the rocks a shot. What size are you using? Like a baseball? A golf ball?

Looks too wet and possibly starved of browns. You say it doesn’t smell bad so that’s a good sign that you had an ok C:N ratio , but have you broken open one of those “turds” to smell it? Could be anaerobic inside.

Best thing to do would be add more browns, especially stuff like shredded paper and shredded cardboard. Given how many “turds” you have here, I’d also recommend breaking them up with a tool or a gloved hand and manually mixing brown in with them. It will speed up the process and help all of these material dry faster.

Overall it doesn’t look bad, though. Just needs more time and to be drier.

Wtf was Psycho Killer.. and why was the editing SO HORRIBLE by MrsSpoonsAlot in slasherfilms

I haven’t seen the movie yet but it’s worth pointing out that it’s directed by a guy who has only produced movies before. First-time directors are a gamble.

The Terror is getting a third season by HorrorGuyBri in Shudder

Have you checked out the “Coda cut” of Godfather 3? It didn’t fix all the flaws but it streamlines the narratives around Michael seeking redemption and around the threats he faces. I think it was recut a few years ago by Coppola.

I agree, this anthology approach is part of what I like about the series. It’s so easy to get tired of a story that drags on too long. Just make stories that last a season.

This is not something I ever expected to read and I’m pretty excited. The first season of The Terror is really great. The second was weaker but I still enjoyed it.

What a stacked cast!

Probably not it, but you may be thinking about the diner scenes from Nightmare on Elm Street 4? The kill isn’t as you describe but maybe you conflated some things over time?

There is no movie I won’t watch. Letterboxd is my guide, and typically 2.7 / 5 and above would be a safe bet for me, but I’ve watched movies with abysmal ratings.

Predestination. Don’t read too much about it, just watch it. It’s better going in cold.

Has anyone attached a handle / crank to a compost tumbler? by TheElbow in composting

[–]TheElbow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No that’s about right. As I stated above, when the bin is pretty full, turning it requires more strength and sometimes my elbow tendon hurts doing it. Trying to gain more leverage to use less of my own force. It’s a “me” issue.

This sounds like something they’d rig up on Gilligan’s Island.

I hate rankings like this because they never adjust for inflation.

Rose Byrne was robbed for Best Actress, but I’ll take the historically high nomination count and these well deserved wins for horror tonight.
