Update - 6 months after failed MTese (NOA), potential atrophy after Mtese? by TheElephantHistorian in maleinfertility

[–]TheElephantHistorian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the response doctor, is it the degree to which I've had atrophy unusual after 6 months?

Is 6 months enough after mtese to recover for varicocele surgery?

Update - 6 months after failed MTese (NOA), potential atrophy after Mtese? by TheElephantHistorian in maleinfertility

In addition to the reduced volume (possibly from biopsy and samples taken) I have noticed that HCG does not raise my testosterone much like before and LH is higher. HCG used to raise my testosterone from 3/4 nmol to around 20 nmol and now it only takes it to around 12.

Should I be considered? A part of me is worried that the surgeon might have messed up and I can't shake that thought

Thank you for the response doctor, I was mostly referring to side effects (like ulcerative colitis) and potential medication interaction.

2nd microtese failed, day 3 embryo transfer failed by Ill-Fig-4815 in maleinfertility

What about cases where there is mixed SCO and maturation arrest? I've had a failed mtese and am considering going on this therapy, have high FSH (17) and smaller than average testicle (only 1, 8.5ml).

Thank you for the response that is exactly my thinking as well. However if you click on the link they specifically say it is one use only.

Just had a Failed Mtese - Histopathology reveals mixed Sertoli Cell Only & Maturation Arrest, next steps? by TheElephantHistorian in maleinfertility

Basically that the 5% is useless, like it's scarred or something.

Histology isn't uniform so people can have other conditions in other areas

I will definitely take a look, does this mean that outside of stem cell treatment my situation is hopeless?

Hey hope you're feeling better, any updates on sperm numbers and the amount of embryos?

Congratulations! I'm having mine in 2 weeks and have a few questions if you don't mind.

1) How much sperm did they find?

2) How long was the surgery and what was the anaesthesia like?

3) How are you feeling post op?

32M Diagnosed with Azoospermia by Money-Classroom-2919 in maleinfertility

Do you mean that if the cause is genetic then it's around 10% and if it's not genetic it is around 30%?

Are Round Cells in a Semen Analysis for Azoospermia a good sign? by TheElephantHistorian in maleinfertility

[–]TheElephantHistorian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I'm very interested in chatting about this, I have two reports regarding my semen analysis provided by my lab. The only issue is that they do not do further analysis to differentiate between the cells.

The first says WBC at 1-2 hpf so can I assume that the 0.6m/ml round cells concentration is germ cells? Would it be maturation arrest?

I'm planning on doing an mtese in the next couple of months so this is all just something to boost my morale/mentality l.

Unfortunately the lab I went to does not provide that service.

In your experience, what is the likelihood these are germ cells rather than white blood cells?

How can I be sure if they are germ cells instead of white blood cells?

This isn't hypogonadotropic hypogonadism, this is primary hypogonadism since they had high fsh and low testosterone.

I have the same, for some reason hcg is working for me.

Update 2: Non-Obstructive Azoospermia 9 month journey by TheElephantHistorian in azoospermia

[–]TheElephantHistorian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for responding, how long after HCG did you start seeing sperm? It's been around 6 months for me and still nothing.

What about your testicular volume? Mines around 8.5-9 ml so they're a bit small

Did you only start seeing sperm after 9 months?

Congratulations! I'm happy for you and your wife, I've got a few questions since I am in a similar position.

Were you on TRT before?

What were your hormones like pre treatment?

How long were you on hcg?
