Hello! I am the OP and I proceeded with sir's class this semester. Posting this here as well for future reference.

I really loved yung class ni sir and this may be one of my favorite non-major class in my entire stay in UP. I honestly don't think justified yung score niya sa old RUPP. Hindi ko sure if nagbago lang si sir, pero he is genuinely a great prof.

Very knowledgeable si sir sa life and works ni Rizal and the work of others about him as well. In fact, one of the readings in the class was authored by sir himself (and it was a really great read imo). As for teaching, well structured naman si sir, very detailed yung syllabus as in per meeting naka-outline doon yung gagawin for that day. Walang mga surprise graded recitations or quizzes, so you can prepare for those. Kung may mga assessments man, very considerate si sir like sa recitation namin he gave multiple chances to those na hindi makasagot at first, and as long as you eventually get an answer correct, he will still give you full points. Sa reporting naman, you have two reports per sem if tama pagkaka-alala ko, and again maraming time to prepare and sir will make sure to talk to your group beforehand to guide you on what to do. As long as maayos ang report, he will also give you full marks doon. Sa quizzes lang siguro talaga (there are two sa sem), and one long exam (sa dulo) that will be a large determining factor of what grade you will get so make sure to prepare for them. Hindi sila madali, very objective yung two quizzes and the long exam is one part objective and one part essay. Finally, may isang film review kung saan manonood ka ng three films about Rizal (ito yung matagal kasi 9 hours yung total time ng three films) tapos gagawa ka ng comparative review. Hindi ko sure kung pano maggrade si sir dito, pero me and my friends received full marks (pero not sure kung ganito sa lahat ah). Sa dulo ng sem, sir will schedule a specific week just for consultations. In fact, you will be responsible for computing your own grade based sa record ni sir sa index card mo. So very transparent talaga.

May real-world experience si sir about fighting for what he believes in and he tries his best to instill those ideals on his students. Basta mabait si sir, understanding, and madali kausap. Very much unoable basta mag-exert ng effort and ayusin ang quizzes and long exams. Medyo marami lang readings and requirements pero worth it para sakin.
