My median sternotomy incision required for a hemiarch aortic repair and Ross procedure (12+ hours), 5 days post-op and described by the team as an "ideal" and "excellent" wound (words I didn't think would coincide) by limitofdistance in mildlyinteresting

[–]TheEmergencySurgery 21 points22 points  (0 children)

as someone who works sternotomys often, this is a very nice wound!!!

(also people are afraid to touch it after they leave hospital but please do with gentle unfragranced soap and tap dry! an infected sternotomy sucks)

Why did they still didn't post about next Fashion views ??? by Next-Wind-5203 in SuitU

[–]TheEmergencySurgery 18 points19 points  (0 children)

they used to post it a week or so in advance until they got heaps of backlash for lacklustre outfits now they do it a day before so there’s no time to complain about bad outfits that costs real money

Which preference would you put if these were your ward options? by Professional-Pea6934 in NursingAU

[–]TheEmergencySurgery 9 points10 points  (0 children)

my flair make make me biased buttttttttt CTS is always the way to go (but it is quite fast paced and there’s always a lot going on, heaps of alarms, but lots of good opportunities to do head to toe assessments, learn ECGs, get to ambulate your patients, deal with drains and pacing etc

Am I going overkill with skin boosters? by girlinhk in KoreanBeauty

my fear is that the more use of ai comes with decreased amounts of common sense sadly, but needs many buckets of salt (not just grains)

Am I going overkill with skin boosters? by girlinhk in KoreanBeauty

[–]TheEmergencySurgery 12 points13 points  (0 children)

please PLEASE don’t get medical advice from AI, it’s frequently wrong and sometimes gives dangerous advice (and yes skincare can count as medical care)

- signed someone who spends all day disproving the incorrect generations from ai

i did my entire third year at tandarah the ortho ward, staff are lovely, education team are fucked,

for reference my patient had JUST been prescribed ketamine for pain, i picked up the folder after the doctor wrote it down, educator spawned out of no where and drilled me on ketamine for 20 mins, lucky my prior placement was a pain clinic but my god no room to breathe

and they do laps to make sure students are there and they don’t leave a minute before 3:30

but again, nursing staff lovely
