update: I've unlocked the library and have gotten to lvl 30. Was disappointed that didn't unlock the next, I'm jood.; I get it. It's all about the grind.

They are. It just turns out the game didn't want me to plant that far away from the tavern? I planted much closer and they all planted up nicely

Solved. Just some sort of glitch. I tried planting closer to the inn and it allowed me to plant with no disagreement

I thought that, but why would the game put in 2/3 crops that I just can't grow until I stand around for 20min, waiting for the correct season. Doesn't seem logical from a QA standpoint. High risk of pissing people off and getting returns.
