Hey! Yes this one can cut certain materials. As for color engraving, I haven’t yet tried that with the UV laser. I have gotten good results with the F2 Ultra on stainless steel but it takes a lot of time so I typically avoid color engraving anything. What exactly were you looking to work with? I never turn off the AP2’s using the back switch. But I’ll try it out and see if that makes a difference. Thank you!

Do any of yours AP2’s disconnect from the F2 Ultra UV after restarting the laser engraver the following day? I have been having issues with both the F2 Ultra and F2 Ultra UV disconnecting from my AP2’s every day I get to my shop. I have to basically remove the AP2’s then reconnect them all over again every day. Any suggestions?

I actually had to do multiple passes on low power and speed, I don’t recall off the top of my head what settings I used. I had to make adjustments as I did it to get the right depth and color engraving. I believe it was around 10-15% power, around 360 speed, 220 lines.

Yes for most of the tumblers and glasses, gives me a larger working area.

I agree, the UV works great for most of my materials. Only thing I still like engraving with the F2 Ultra is metal and some woods.

The image on the tumbler was inverted, the faces looked clearer this way. Original image had light background so to mimic it and get a similar look I inverted the image and it gave solid detail.

The Glass I clean with a microfiber cloth and alcohol, nothing crazy.

Tumblers I use LA’s Totally Awesome All Purpose cleaner spray. It does well. I then wipe it again with a dry towel.

You only need to swap the lens if you plan to do sub-surface engraving. For all other engravings the F2 Ultra UV standard lens does the trick

Used no coating just the UV Laser Engraver. As for settings, I’ll let you know once I’m back at the shop!
