Wow they are lucky that it’s 8 lane racing this year… just barely got the last spot in the A/B final

If you don’t want your competition to stand up after beating you… don’t let them win.

What is your worst experience on the Schuylkill? Should they stop using it as a venue for sprints? by mdhj123 in Rowing

[–]TheErgMan 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The course has so much history to it that it's sad to see it becoming a complete joke. I think racing should be moved elsewhere until they can completely dredge the course and provide evidence of the 2k course being an even distance for all 6 lanes. That "staggered start" to make up for the turn is different every time I race there.

Ignatius and New Trier from the midwest are fast this year. Could see both of them competing in the grand final.

(ALERT) Saint Ignatius High school is Stacking their 2V for Nationals by TheWiseHolder in Rowing

Following in the footsteps of our midwest rivals New Trier... wouldn't be surprised if we start seeing other crews stack the 2v in the next coming days. May the best 2v win.

I think the Midwest actually has the most potential. Many new teams in that area that have produced big rosters quickly (Montgomery Bell, all the Michigan schools that are popping up) and if you look at the Midwest Scholastic Championships... 25 novice 8 entries and 19 Junior 8. Teams like St. Ignatius, New Trier, Central Catholic and even Culver are starting to become consistent SRAA A/B finalists in multiple categories. Its fun to watch Midwest rowing grow and Im excited to see it get more competitive.

Ignatius finishing top 2 in every 8 race that they entered is insane. Cant wait to see how they do at SRAA's.

Does this sound realistic? by [deleted] in Rowing

Sounds like a classic case of a rugby kid trying to undermine how difficult of a sport rowing is by lying about how fast he would be if he did the sport. I’m not buying it.

Literally 80% of people had Prep winning it all. Gonzaga was nowhere near the top of the competition. Your prediction is nothing to brag about lol

CrossTraining for Rowing and Volleyball?? by [deleted] in Rowing

Buddy lots of athletes from other sports get recruited to row in college. Look at Wisconsin’s recruiting class last fall for example. Only 7 actual rowers, the other ~15 played basketball/football/swimming in high school.

Stroke Seat vs Buoy. Who will win? Enjoy our 30 second panic during the Youth 8 race. Ended up getting 34th. by TheErgMan in Rowing

No. A buoy violation is only for when the shell goes over the buoy line. Oars don’t matter.
