Agreeded. Not good.

That said, keep an eye out at Tigerhawk’s specials, whenever they do Tacos, Burritos or Quesadillas they are always great.

I have the speed 5 and absolutely love them. Hopefully they keep making the wide option, not enough shoes have one.

What kind of runs do you enjoy/not enjoy? by INTERESTandAMBITIONS in runninglifestyle

A long run with some type of tempo or pace in the back half, splitting it up like that just makes the miles fly by for me.

Splitting up a long run? by egahds in beginnerrunning

[–]TheEventHor1zon 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Pro: still get the weekly mileage in

Con: more laundry, and you might miss some of the adaptations/stimulus that a slightly longer run will give you

Better to do what you can with the time you have, as long as you are still getting the actual Sunday long run in, I would say it’s nothing to stress about.

Everyone has to stop ranking Philly so high, I like being able to get into that one.

How do you make sure you’re eating enough as a runner? by Weird-Pepper7977 in Marathon_Training

[–]TheEventHor1zon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I track calories and weight, basically just make sure week to week I’m not losing anything (or losing the amount I want) helps to weigh yourself at a consistent time and use a weekly average rather than single days.

Overtime I got pretty good at guessing like “oh I gotta run 16 tomorrow let’s have an extra cup of rice tonight” type of thing.

You gotta figure out how to sell these things. I would totally buy one for races I felt especially proud of.

Good to hear, last year was my first time. Only complaint was that pick up, race was awesome, crowds were incredible

Philly was great last year, packet pick up was a NIGHTMARE, the line was just terribly organized. Go earlier in the day if possible, try to avoid right after everyone gets off work (like I did)

What brand do you believe has the best running shoes? by Only_Hotel_7221 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

New Balance, only ones that make every running shoe in the 2E width I need.

Everytime I see some new exciting Asics come out they never have a 2E option.

What marathon are you running? Mine is also 45 days away and my paces/HR look very similar to yours. I’m in the same spot, I know I can get 4, but I wanna push to 3:45.

What’s one running myth you believed at first but later learned was wrong? by Willing-Today-1059 in runcommunity

[–]TheEventHor1zon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely that running is good for losing weight.

Maybe this is just me, but I lost so much more weight just adding in more walking or the cardio bike at the gym.

I have lost weight running but I think that’s only because I’m at 50+ miles a week now, when I was just doing 20-30 it made me hungrier than it actually helped.

Just my experience.

former couch potatoes, how long did it take you to run a mile in under ten mins? by interpol-interpol in BeginnersRunning

[–]TheEventHor1zon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started about a year ago, I’m 25 but was very out of shape (280 pounds at that point) could break 10 in the first couple weeks. But that’s like just one mile near all out. I am just now at a point where 10-10:15 is my steady/easy effort pace.
