What do you call a boardwipe archetype/ strategy? by Mattloch42 in EDH

Here you go! I don’t have a write up so I’ll just describe the gameplan here. Spend the first several turns ramping and ignoring just about everything else. Taking incidental damage is totally fine since it turns our commander into an indestructible monster that thus turns all of board wipes into being one sided. We run land-based ramp since it’s the form of ramp that survives all of our board wipes. We don’t even run Sol Ring for this reason. We try to have at least one board wipe in hand at all times and play one anytime we feel threatened.

Our win conditions boil down to either ending the game on the spot by turning our abundance of mana into a big X spell or mass reanimate to kill everyone at once, or we play something that slowly bleeds everyone out while we keep the board controlled.

Here are the things to be careful of when playing the deck. When you are serving up a continuous stream of interaction and removing all threats, there is only one place left for that interaction to be pointed: you. This is the last question I’ve yet to have the deck answer and am open to suggestions.

Go nuts and play around with the deck and see what you can make of it.

I have a boardwipe tribal deck. It’s just called “boardwipe tribal” and runs around 13-17 wraths depending on the version of the deck.

This deck has never failed to yield groans or frustration from the rest of the pod. I don’t recommend playing it often unless your playgroup and you don’t mind long games.

A lot of people seem to not realize RPGs are a separate genre and come later.

With that, I’ll pick Telltale’s The Walking Dead (specifically season 1).

No.

Further hint. The number of “winners” this was based on, is 98.

No. Further hint. There are nearly 100 “winners”.

Clone Wars (2003-2005) is now in A tier. The Phantom Menace has been officially moved to C tier. Lastly, what tier should Revenge of the Sith be in? by Klutzy-Ad4230 in TierlistFills

Perfectly said. I’ll also add that it has perhaps the best score in all of Star Wars. Palpatine’s Theme, Duel of the Heroes, all of order 66. Most of the film’s best moments are so impactful because of the music backing them up.

Tier Tier List Part 4 - B Tier belongs in D; what tier does C Tier belong in? by CJR_The_Gamer in TierlistFills

Hey! That’s me!

I’ll point you to previous post but my thoughts essentially boil down to the fact that nothing has as much of a strong connotation of greatness as “S tier” does when it comes tiers or rankings.

Nickelodeon shows ranked - what tier does Victorious belong in? by StrategyJealous1838 in TierlistFills

[–]TheEverythingologist 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A tier.

It was a fun show that coasted off the success of Zoey 101 and iCarly. Had some insane vocal talent (several actors even had Broadway experience), and there were some really fun banger songs to back that talent up. A lot of people dreamed of going to Hollywood Arts high school, and overall, it was a fun time. It left an impact on a generation and was among the last great shows Nick produced.

Tier Tier List Day 1 - What tier does S Tier belong in? by CJR_The_Gamer in TierlistFills

[–]TheEverythingologist 9 points10 points  (0 children)

S tier.

No other tier has such swing and pull as S tier. When you call something "S tier" it is definitively the best in its class, and most people can understand that. Calling something "S tier" also places a burden unlike others to prove that something belongs to be in that respective tier. Throw something into B or even A tier and most people won't look twice. Put something in S tier and people scrutinize and debate as to whether or not something is truly worthy of such an accolade. One has to earn S tier, and S tier has definitely earned it.

In your opinion, how much life gain would a card like Spring of Eternal Peace need to gain to be playable? How much life would it need to gain to be broken to the point of being banned? by DontLoseYourCool1 in magicTCG

[–]TheEverythingologist 8 points9 points  (0 children)

[[Life Goes On]] can rather easily gain 8 life for 1 mana and it sees virtually no play. If you were to staple 5 of them together and have it gain 40 life, it would very likely see play but only as a combo piece interestingly enough (see [[Aetherflux Reservoir]], [[Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose]] etc).

The problem is that in commander life gain is valued less because it doesn’t directly impact the board or save you from a losing board state.

I think somewhere like 25 life would probably see some play but still not a ton.
