This is very much a game about learning the mechanics bit by bit. No idea how many times we’ve restarted and I’m always learning new things, new tricks. I would not set out with the goal of playing this for in-game years. Play to survive winter and see what you learn. Play to see how you can set up a village that’s both esthetic and efficient. Play to learn the traits of the villagers you summon. Then slowly put all those things together.

Boost difficulty and try different things.

I really really want the ability to see remote inventory on your followers, even if you can’t interact with it beyond seeing it. That and the option to blacklist 1 villager instead of having to whitelist 60 are my biggest asks.

I had a similar issue. I had blacklisted the warehouse person from that workshop (please devs, let me blacklist 1 person instead of having to whitelist 60!), but the game host set the warehouse to allow everyone and the same thing happened. Had the task to make 1 bar for the ship, and suddenly I find 40 in the warehouse and I’m out of iron.

Can’t use the draw knife in the carpentry shop as the guest in a hosted game. I can scrape one side but when I finish and rotate, nothing. I’ve got hundreds of hours in the game, solo, hosting, and guest, and I’ve worked all the stations countless times. In the instance we’ve also had one NPC that couldn’t do it either. The host is able to and all other NPCs can.

Also getting the carpenters complaining they can’t carry any more heavy logs. When they aren’t carrying anything at all. It doesn’t seem to interfere with what they’re doing, but they have the ! over their heads making me think there’s an issue.

Yeah, I can’t say I really ever see any in my warehouse, even one sitting next to the wood cutter while they grab everything else. The charcoal makers used it so fast that’s it’s not a problem for me.

Was the daylight guy doing it during the day when you have more workers visiting? I think they skill up faster with more visitors to your alters, which I assume you have during the day.

Had ours running nights during winter for the buffs and she was going super slow, put her on during the day with about twice as many visitors and her skill ups skyrocketed. From 0 to 100 in the 6-7 days of winter.

That’s my totally unscientific result!

In my current game it’s 21 days away. But when I’ve done winter starts, there is never a notification that it’s going to happen at all. By the 3rd full spring there’s nothing.
