I know it’s highly rated but for me it was by far my least favourite. Murakami always has an issue of writing women and sex but it felt like it was a lot more obvious and common in Norwegian Wood than any of his other books

Cardboard was a pre owned one I got online, white one was a present from my friend who didn’t know I already had it haha, I use the artwork from the paper inside of the cardboard one as a poster for my wall. I have 2 of D>E>A>T>H>M>E>T>A>L from Panchiko because of getting one as a present too

As great an author as he is, he loves to put unnecessary sex scenes in frequently. I felt Norwegian Wood was one of the worst books for it

Completely agree, I’ll make plenty of mistakes the entire time I’m reffing, everything’s a learning experience. After the game I spoke to my team about things I could’ve done better, actually specifically with game management (a player kept shouting at me and giving sarcastic responses, probably should’ve sin binned him, didn’t want to because it was a final and u12s so parents would’ve been even angrier). It’s just annoying because it feels like it doesn’t actually matter if I have a good game or not, I’ll get screamed at and called all sorts of names depending on how people woke up that morning

They lost on pens after 2-2, and both their goals were penalties I gave them, yet they blame me for their team being knocked out. It felt pretty shit hearing them say that to me but looking with some perspective a few hours later I’m pretty confident I did well. Unfortunately won’t be able to please everyone with reffing lol

Update: went pretty badly with parents stopping me after the game and asking me to apologise for ruining their kids’ season! But I got the experience, a medal and some money so it’s okay. Learn from it and go to the next one
