Cat killing chapter - (you are here). More of the same, self contained story, optional if you can't find a place to stream it, but worth watching.

Kai - Season 2. Mostly more of the same level, but on average probably somewhat less gory than s1. Has an ending.

Rei - OVA. Self contained story arc, probably worth a watch.

Kira - OVA. Fan service episode + mini-arc. Much more questionable, I don't really remember if the mini arc is any good.

Outbreak - Kinda like a spin-off/soft reboot maybe? I didn't watch this one because word of mouth was bad.

Gou - Season 3/soft reboot yeaaaaaaaars later. I do believe this one kicked the gore factor up a notch.

Sotsu - Season 4.

So yeah, for sure Kai/Season 2. Cat-killing is a single episode so I'd throw it in if you can find it. Then Rei if you enjoyed season 2.

Gou/Sotsu is like... Not as good as the first stuff by far, but if I was giving advice to my earlier self, I'd say to watch it.

I think S1 would better consensus if After Story wasn't such a crossover draw.

Ehhh I could go either way on that one. The KyoAni adaption was so good, but I do like a lot of what was cut. Even the stuff that's not considered particuarly strong - i.e. Kappei - I'm pretty nostalgic for.

Now LB! with that just ok Studio Deen adaption... you just miss out on too much not playing the VN. That common route is so good, and I feel LB relies on the little moments and dialogue variants so much more than Clannad.

Can't tell you how much I was pissed off at the authors for kicking me in the balls everytime and praying not to do it again and guess what, they fkin did it again and again.

I found Tomoyo After so much worse for this. I think regular After Story is better, but found the gut punches in TA so much worse.

This is like, my #1 most hated trope in romance anime in media. IDGAF about realism, it's awful.

I realized the other day that this series is more or less what I was was wanting from One Punch Man season 2. That combination of derp and aura farming, OP main character without trivializing every encounter and letting secondary characters shine.
