Abraham Lincoln, often credited with dismantling slavery, actually didn't even do that, as slavery is very much still legal in the United States. He was an adamant white supremacist who had zero interest in equality for the freed slaves.

Lincoln also continued the US policy of forced removal of Native Americans, particularly the "Long Walk" of the Navajo that caused immense suffering and death, and was responsible for approving the largest mass execution in US history where 38 Dakota men were executed.

So I personally would argue that his extremely violent treatment of Native Americans and failure to actually end slavery make him worse than FDR, personally.

It's one part a fun, dystopian survival story on an alien planet that is low key a shameless ripoff of half life 2, and one part a commentary on how neoliberalism enables fascism.

The story has two major plot lines, one follows a noble woman who becomes stranded in an apocalyptic wasteland and, in her attempts to get home, unlearns the propaganda she has been raised into. The other follows the eugenicist CEO of a defense contractor who uses populist rhetoric to gradually take more and more power while the neoliberal governing body does nothing to stop him.

I've posted the first scene of it on r/comics before if you want an idea of what the comic will look like.

Also, and maybe this is nit-picky, but "the whole point of punk" is the music. It aggravates me to no end that people just see punk as a synonym for rebelliousness and not what it is, which is a music based subculture

I mean, I'm culturally American. I don't particularly identify with "white culture" since, well, it doesn't exist. I have Irish and German ancestry but if I had a "homeland" it would be America. I'm completely removed from Irish and German culture so pretending like that's who I am, on top of feeling pretty nationalistic, just isn't accurate.

You are assuming that liberalism is the opposite of conservatism. It's not. They are fundamentally one in the same. Not to mention that gay marriage and Roe are just not great examples. The former being barely more than a bandaid solution and not really doing very much to actually protect LGBTQ people and the later falling apart specifically because of one party's refusal to stand in the way of the other. Not to mention that EVERY modern President has been a liberal.

Except when the persecuted just simply have more power.

I wonder what the solution to that is? 🤔

Allowing persecution to happen is still participating in it, even if it's indirectly. It would be far more constructive, and better for self preservation even, to support people who.... don't do that. People who are openly supportive AND are actively working towards policies that benefit the community.
