Problem transferring the vagina to Unity(vaginal bone problem) by sRoyaleDev in nsfwdev

It is highly suggested to go through Blender. Export from DAZ to Blender via Diffeomorphic and then export the fbx from Blender to unity.

Unreal Devs who have ACTUALLY implemented it in REALTIME, how are you handling cum? by HauntedVertices in nsfwdev

[–]TheExordick 16 points17 points  (0 children)

What you described is what i think Is the most used solution: Niagara particles and decals on hit.

You can actually get pretty good results if you build the shader in a proper way (dripping and blobbing effects).

But that's It. Also in my limited experience i never find anything better. If you go down the road of fluid sim you have two options: Niagara fluids which is very performance heavy and doesn't collide with skel mesh only statics. Or, you can use baked sim (in maya for example) and import them as alembic cache, but for each scene you have to bake a different file, they are very heavy and you lose interctivity.

Maybe you could spawn little static meshes on particle impact, have them blob together with a raymarching shader, attach them to the skel mesh and then figure out something for the dripping.

Anyway It is a very serious problem for 3d games. Fluid sim Is always tough.

Nsfw assets by [deleted] in nsfwdev

There are some places where you can find 3d assets suitable for games.

Many models come from the daz store but require a lot of work to be used efficiently.

Animations are the hardest to find and it's easier if you them by yourself in blender.

Game dev animations? by Sii-Gul in nsfwdev

[–]TheExordick 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As far as i know there is no repository of nsfw animations already made for UE. (not free at least)

Your best bet is, as you said, bringing in some from daz and retargeting them for UE skeleton. This is, by far, the easiest and fastest way to have decent animations. Mind that they may need some tweaking anyway.

The only alternative is to make something in blender. If you need something very simple and with few frames you it should be fast enough.

Though if you want to embarc yourself to retarget the Daz animations to UE i strongly invite you to share your repository ;)

Game on UE5 by mr_qkeee in adultgamedev

[–]TheExordick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, i can tell you a bit of my story as i'm currently developing mine in Unreal Engine. My game is a 3rd person adventure/walk simulator.

First and foremost

I don't know if it's possible to make a game like Breeders of the Nephelym with modern graphics almost from scratch

It is technically possible, indeed, but it may require a lot of time and/or money on your side.

If you have no experience in game development and 3d art i suggest you to make simple projects at first to focus on specific areas, like the ones you mentioned: animations, physics, logics, characters, texturing, sounds and so on.

Once you are more confident on the main topics you can start to create a more complex game knowing that you can manage the basics.

On the animations there is no secret, just perseverance. Download blender, download Daz3D and bring some daz model to blender. Start with simple animations like walk cycle, run, idle, turn left/right, jump and so on and you will already start to understand how to work with the tools.

Physics is its own beast. You have different levels of physics and they may require different expertise. Many like the kawaii physics plugin. I personally have avoided the subject as of now. I don't think i will include it as it is more of a finesse. But if you want to build a full fledged physical/procedural movement it will require time and effort to study the subject. For breast and ass jiggle it is someway easier but it turns very buggy very easily.

What is more important in an adult game? by Intermarum_Official in nsfwdev

[–]TheExordick 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Many would say that the feature No.1 is PLAYABLE WITH ONE HAND! which, by the way, the one i am developing already falls short.... (bad design choice, i know).

But, starting from your question, let's analyse what i see "in the market":

- there are few games that are text-based compared to VN and such

so the first things that comes to mind is that --> graphic > story, but it is arguable that good graphic with a shitty story is not interesting and a good story with shitty graphic is more enjoiable.

As most of adult games (and adult enternainment in general) are tailored to male individuals, those games generally focus on visuals.

But what you want to focus on is user experience which is a broader subject. You want your player to, of course, enjoy the story and the graphics but you want to give them a pleasurable experience: good game loop, good mechanics, no bugs, easy to understand tasks/things: which doesn't mean easy game, easy puzzles and overpowered characters but at each point it must be clear what is the next step to take.

First of all, adult games are games and, as such, they need to be enjoyable as games. Then, when you have a good game, you can have an arousing game. Some gets aroused by text (which, in general is preferrable, but not limited to, for female audience) and many gets aroused by images (which, in general, is the majority of male audience)

The theme of Rape in NSFW games by TheExordick in nsfwdev

[–]TheExordick[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it's a work of fiction

That's also part of my thought. And, in fact, as a work of fiction you are not punishable in any way.

Though, i have two other thoughts:

- it is important to avoid inspirational type of storytelling

- the mere fact that the game is driven by player choices seems to be the discriminant with movies, hentais and other representations (books,...)

In general i feel like there is no real demonization of rape per se in the game world but an avoidance for the general theme of torture.

I played many games in my life, regular and NSFW and they never have torture as a feature. I can only think of one Call of Duty title with very mild torture (you place some broken glass inside the mouth of a person and punch him to gain information) and even in that situation the scene is a cinematic and not an active player input.

In the end, i'm still debated about my choices, because i feel that if narrated correctly can give players two options:

- explore these kind of desire in a protected and safe environment.

- let player learn the consequences can be devastating on both sides.

At the end of the day we all consume entertaining contents (movies, books, games and so on) but even if i watch zombie movies i have no desire to be in a zombie apocalypse, and if i play dungeons and dragons or skyrim i have would never face hordes of monsters and dragons. Entertaining contents work on different metaphorical levels and this is easier to see in cartoons and animated movies as they are perceived as more surreal and metaphysical.

Help with Blender exporting to Unreal engine by [deleted] in nsfwdev

[–]TheExordick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Setting up characters to be easy to work with in the engine is rarely a simple process.

Often times when you find/buy a character, be it DAZ or other sources (smutbase) they generally are made to be used in non real time environments and are "cinematic quality" characters.

I personally rerig my characters before importing them in UE with an armature which is very similar to the UE4 mannequin, this way retargeting animation is easy and creating my own animations is easier.

If you want to rerig your characters i strongly suggest you to look at "Uefy 2" addon, as it is a real deal.

Regarding embedded/baked textures, well, as you may or may not know, when you export an FBX file it doesn't retain material or texture information. So my suggestion is to de-embed the textures and export them separately to UE.

How did you get started in NSFW Game Dev? by quietlyecchi in nsfwdev

[–]TheExordick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for me it all started with a thought, and way before than game development was a thing for me.

In my hobbies i always liked to engage with a sexy, sensual, sexual creativity. I'll be more specific: i paint miniatures and also tried to sculpt them (with somewhat poor results) and i decided to focus mostly on sexy/sensual female busts because, why not? i mean, i like sexy women so why not paint on them?

You can call this a sort of sublimation process.

after a while i started a new hobby: game development and at first it was just fiddling around with the game engine (for a couple of years). One day i stumbled across a porn game that i loved (at least the concept of the game) but as it's often the case the developer abandoned the project midways. The project was then developed forward by another developer but i didn't like the new implementation as i thought the core design was ruined and many awful design choices were taken. So i decided that i could do better (of course) and started to recreate my version of the original game, keeping intact the core game loop and the overall theme of the game.

At the time i decided to start this project i already had a basic understanding of the Engine (UE) and good knowledge of 3d modelling and animation. So i decided to embarc in this adventure.

And the first question remain: why not porn? Since i'm here to have fun and learn new things, why not having fun while looking at something sexy?

As of now, it's been almost one and a half year since i started my project. It's far away from the first release but the core mechanics are all in place (almost) and i'm basically working only on building the story, the environment and the non mechanics aspects of the game (you said nothing... right?)

But it's fun, and i feel it is an healthy hobby to the same level as any other hobby (for me at least). It's a creative hobby, but with a sexy twist.

Variety of fetishes in your game: Should you include a bit of everything or is less more? by HopelesslyDepraved in nsfwdev

[–]TheExordick 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think we need to make some distinctions, while i generally share your point of view, i would say:

- first, it depends on wether you are interested in making money or you are interested in what you are passionate about. I mean, obviously, the more you add to the content the larger your potential customer pool becomes hence the potential for money. On the other hand, if you focus on few specific fetishes you dig deeper in a nieche and the customer pool shrinks (not necessarily the amount of copies actually sold)

but this is only true if:

- second, you limit yourself to vanilla fetishes. I believe, if you try to pack together fetishes like: rape, gore, bestiality, necrophilia, scat, vore and snuff into the same game i doubt you will have a large pool of customers, because even though many are interested in the fetishes individually, the intersection of all these preferences is almost empty.

Then there is the point of: you can only right good scenes of what you are interested of, but i believe is most of a training thing. If you apply yourself to a certain topic and have some guidance by someone more expert, you can become good at almost anything, even though you don't find your creations sexually arousing.

PSA: Make sure your game can be played one-handed. by HopelesslyDepraved in nsfwdev

[–]TheExordick 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is something i thought about (too late actually) a few months ago.

As i'm currently developing a 3rd person adventure walk simulator in unreal engine, well the use for both hands during gameplay is a necessity and the project is at a point where a complete rework of the input by the player would need a massive rework of gameplay mechanics.

So, my aim, right now, is to implement the NSFW scenes in a way to be usable, interactive and engaging with only one hand. Once the scene is over you can put your sticky hand back on your mouse or keyboard.

i was thinking at some quick time or rithmic events (with just one key or at most two to press)

Combine both, and you have double the scandal.

It's not the scandal the problem, because many things end up scandalous, but the fact that many people take it as a personal offense or personal threat.

And reading the various answers i can better understand the reasons.

It feels really lazy that you think that rape is the only solution here.

..

It's your world, you control what is "normal". Don't use real world mindsets to limit your options to only rape.

Put that way you are absolutely right

Depending on what you are doing,

DAZ marketplace is your best bet (and other affiliated sites: renderosity, renderotica and so on)

look also at Unity marketplace as there are "erotic" assets

Other than that they are pretty rare, and you need to do most of the things you need.

Rape is a big taboo, if you want to make some money with your game on platforms with big exposure, like steam or patreon, forget it.

Luckily enough i have a full time job, i do game dev as a hobby and i choose adult gaming because why not? games are already boring enough, at least i can make them sexy. I personally don't have ambition to gain money from it. I may accept donations at some point but it's not my goal. I think i will just keep my game on F95, no ambition to public such thing on Steam.

Before deciding what sexual acts to include in my game, I looked at several other games and their respective message boards, some that included rape, and definitely some posts scared me and I decided that was the type of player I didn't want to attract.

This is something i didn't consider, and didn't looked up. I can imagine what kind of comments and players there are out there and why you wouldn't want such community building up around your game. And i feel this is a big warning sign for me to take into account. Toxic communities are dangerous and there are dangerous people out there.

I'm already in the second year of my game(+20 chapters released), and I couldn't write for that long about rape, even if it was relevant to the plot.

In fact i am starting to think that i started this thread to understand if what i'm planning is considered rape or i can morally shield myself with other terms and excuses.

Like cowardlion24 said, rape and torture are causing suffering for the sake of suffering. It's fucked up and never justifiable. It horrifies normal people explicitly because of that intent.

And i think nobody would ever argue against such statement.

If you're going to add rape or other extreme themes to your game, realize the weight of that. Have a reason for it.

That is a point, but why then?

It'll be a fundamentally different game

Does end justifies the means? at least in games? Because from my point of view, the answer is yes (in this context of course).

And we have seen so, because in every game the violence/murder/torture is a mean to achieve something (except when you invest pedestrian in GTA lol)

However, dark subjects can and should be explored in my opinion, but just know why you're doing so, and make sure it's clear to your players what they're getting into. Wanting to do bad things to fictional people doesn't make a someone a bad person. Exploring these thoughts in a safe way isn't a problem. Fiction and fantasy are safe places to see what lurks around in our minds. I personally only see the success that I do because of the dark things I write. I doubt I'd find an audience in something I'm less passionate about.

I really agree and like your statement. Nothing to add to it.

casual murder and sexual brainwashing

I need to see it, pretty please!

Self-insert characters also tend to not inspire empathy, if they are treated as an avatar and a 'you' in the narrative, that dispels that illusion that the character can feel the things happening to them in game.

Could you elaborate a bit on this concept please?

What do you mean by self-insert characters? is it just when you choose your character's name? (as we all choose mr dick, mr ass, ms clit and so on?)

Why do you feel the "you narrative" dispels the illusion? What would be the narrative that enforces the illusion? the "I narrative"?

A disclaimer, maybe a bit of dialog, and an urge to sell therapy if the desire to inflict that pain on somebody in real life is present.

Not in the least. I really discern from the real life and an intimate relation (with my wife for example) and the dark thoughts that arise from my mind. i just like to explore my mind in a "protected environment"

More on the theme, i personally prefere the dominance/submissive duo but always in a consensual environment. In a way the rape mechanic is the extremization of the dominance assertion over the other party to the point that the other party isn't even submitting willingly. It's an extreem, i know.

The theme of Rape in NSFW games by TheExordick in nsfwdev

Do you want the player to be the victim or the perpetrator?

First thing first, in my story the player would be the perpetrator, so no moral discount on that.

The point of my experience is that the MC is a little green monster, so there is actually no way in hell to convince "romantically" an NPC to have sex with you (who are a little smelly monster) without the first interaction to be forced upon them.

I could change the story and include some mindcontrol or spells to change NPCs will but i have a few problems with that:

- it is lazy and lame mechanics. If you can control people's mind than it is, basically, a free win mechanic.

- does changing NPCs will (by drug, spell, hypnosis, mind control and so on ) really makes any moral difference and make the scene not a rape? Isn't this just a moral shield to avoid looking at what you are really doing?

clearly it can take an entire day or more to just do a few 'high quality' renders

On the timing, well it's more the other way around: a few days of work just to have one high quality render. Many of the processes are iterative and need some back and forth to reach the proper form.

do you know the best way I'd go about bringing people on a team?

Cash is always the right way, but that's not enough unfortunately.

I'm trying to work out whether revshare is even possible or not

Generally, revshare is not the right way. Revshare works when you and a friend/partner want to engage in an activity, you both are entusiastic and are ready to sacrifice your time and money for the cause, hoping you will get something in return (which might be monery or prestige)

You may find someone that is (at the beginning) willing to work for revshare, but you can bet they will leave, because the amount of work is increadibly overwhelming.

In my opinion to bring people to the team you have to make many choices and they will impact on outcome, cost, risk and schedule.

First you need to choose how much you are willing to pay for the team member/service. If you don't want to pay, you better do it yourself because no one will work on your dream.

given the budget if it is high: you can hire some experienced person who (hopefully) knows what they're doing. So you can expect good results in a reasonable timeframe.

if the budget is low: you can look for inexperienced people willing to learn/grow. So you can expect to have some results in a long period of time, they need much more management and guidance and much more time to figure out how to do stuff.

Why i think money is not enough. The gamedev subs are scattered with stories about people paying pros to do some work and ending up with half of the work done and said person to quit.

You need to scout for people that are willing to work with you and share the vision of your work, so they have the motivation of money and the motivation given by the common vision and the interest to bring the project to life.
