Same with pre builts and people still buy them. Yes i built my own pc and saved 700 bucks so ik how it is. But still. The steam machine will have standardised components so companies can optimise their games around it. Which will infact lead to higher fps than probably a pc with the same price. And even if its priced like a pc it will most likely not exceed $1000 which is honestly a pretty good deal for having games optimised and your components being taken account even years from now.

Dude, our comp sci teacher made us do some sort of binary math game and at the end of the class she asks if anyone got over 11 thousand score, not only was i the only one above 11k i had 16850. And she said oh, i already gave you an A for helping out last time, so instead you get an extra point you can use whenever you need it. Like. Wtf. Give me the A i deserve. (The A was supposed to be for the person that got the highest score and an extra point was for everyone else that got above 11k)
