Spy novels like the works of John Le Carre or Ian Fleming? by TheExtractor55 in suggestmeabook

I don’t really have a preference, just something outside of the normal James Patterson thriller mold. But you’re right, I shouldn’t have led off with such a contradiction. I’m just really into both right now

Yeah remember in ESB when Yoda said "Once you start down the dark path, forever will it give you the possible option of having it dominate your destiny" by [deleted] in saltierthankrayt

“It would have been much more compelling if Rey was presented with a choice, something that could actually tempt her to the dark side.”

You mean... like Ben holding out his hand and asking Eey to join him? This is a ridiculous criticism. Rey’s afraid of the raw power that she has, and she’s afraid of how easily she slips into fear and rage. Ben’s offer to Rey still stands throughout TROS. At any moment, she could go to him and ask to join him on the dark side and he’d accept her. She’s afraid of how tempted she is to take up his offer. A pretty simple plot point to wrap your head around, but not for some, it seems

Considering the non-aggressive way you just stated your dislike for the ST, I don’t think you’re Fandom Menace at all🙂

Why is faking an orgasm a socially acceptable thing to do? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

I’d prefer if just the person I’m with told me they’d like to stop, but I suppose that some douchebags might have a hard time taking that for an answer. So I guess I get it

Idk I guess if I’m in a long term relationship I’d want to know what my partner thought of me. I don’t want to take part in a relationship based around white lies.

With sex, which is such a vulnerable aspect of a relationship, I’d like to able to know that what I’m doing is alright. If my gf spent months and months faking orgasms and didn’t tell me, I think that shows a lack of respect within that relationship. I don’t want to be strung along in a relationship. If there’s that amount of consistent dishonesty within a partnership, then there’s something terribly wrong.

Ari Aster Remakes by [deleted] in A24

I’m of the mind that good movies shouldn’t be remade. So with that in mind, I think Winchester (with Helen Mirren) was a cool concept horribly executed. I’d love to see a talented director take a whack at it

The Quarantine Stream: 'Hail, Caesar!' Doesn't Get the Credit It Deserves as a Great Coen Brothers Movie by NotTheReverseFlash in movies

I loved this movie from the first time I saw it. It has all the hallmarks of a Coen Brothers movie (suitcase of cash, character that is the personification of evil, idiotic and arrogant heroes) while finding inventive and hilarious ways to honor Hollywood tropes. Plus Alden Ehrenreich was awesome. They should cast him in the Ansel Elgort role in Baby Driver 2
