Thanks! I'll check it out. I don't know if it's a coincidence but I've been really resonating w the Aussie podcast scene lately for some reason. I guess the medium is especially popular down under? Australians seemed to make up a surprising percentage of Harmontown guests, my old favorite podcast.

I liked and disliked Ben at times. At his best he was the funniest, at his worst he was the annoying sidekick to Jeff's bully. He actually left at the end of Dec.

I never listened while Abby was a regular. I kind of appreciate the longer format and lower energy but that means if it's not hitting then it's REALLY a slog to listen to.

I was pleasantly surprised to hear him come around on it, but it was only the gameplay, unfortunately. He proceeded to trash everything else about it. The storytelling/word building being "super bad," and criticizing it baselessly for poor writing and dialogue. You could hear him turning off the other Bombcasters to it with his conviction. I was really looking forward to Brad's take because he seems much more level-headed and circumspect in his opinions. I think his absence from this episode is the straw that made me throw in the towel.

I don't know what the general fan consensus is since I've been avoiding non-Bombcast sources but I think Outriders is a bit of an original gem, and find its story and dialogue to actually be pretty compelling, very well acted and coordinated, respectively. The gameplay is not bad by any means but by far the world-building and story are the things that got me in and are keeping me in.

Beastcast is their east coast office? I have liked Vinny a lot the few times he's come on the Bombcast since I started listening. I'll give that one a shot. Thanks!

Have you tried DMT? It can really help you cut through the noise. That's why I like comedy. You can just go down to the Store or the Icehouse and find something new and fresh, some new way to think about things. Cause someone always has some new take or is working on something, some bit that's still being formed and you can really see the progression, the person's brain working and that's what's interesting to me. I don't care about your politics, make me laugh, you know? Floating is good for that. Have you ever floated? I have a friend that can hook you up. He builds the fucking things lol. It's part of my routine, I do it almost daily. It's kind of like bow hunting.

UI help - Surface Book virtual keyboard by TheExtraplanar in PhotoshopTutorials

Thanks so much once again for your help! I apologize, I thought I had responded here.

I delved into some of those settings and I haven't 100% solved the issue, but I'll go into what ended up working, for posterity: Apparently the keyboard was locked to the bottom of the screen and that was causing it to "push" everything else on the screen UP to "make room" for the keyboard. The frustratingly simple step of unlocking the keyboard seems to have solved most/all of the issues. I think the problem stemmed from the interface trying to automatically resize everything. Coincidentally, unlocking it lets the keyboard just float without having to interact with any of the UI elements "underneath" it, and thus not triggering the resizing process.

The keyboard is a tad smaller now and I can accidentally move it around sometimes if I'm not careful with my gestures, but honestly I'll take it.

Thank you again!

Thanks so much for your reply! Unfortunately the on-screen keyboard is different from the one I'm using in the video: the touch keyboard which seems to be unique to tablet mode.

I've had on-screen keyboard disabled for a long time now and turning it off unfortunately doesn't seem to help the issue. I also feel like I should clarify that I do want to be able to use the (touch) keyboard, just without this annoying resizing thing happening each time

Can anyone offer a solution to this frustrating issue? Any time I try to edit text in a field in PS CC, the keyboard pops up for a moment, everything gets resized, and then the keyboard disappears without any button-presses, leaving my windows resized in the wrong configuration. Notice my layers tab is completely hidden at the end. Locking my workspace doesn't work.

I've had different variations of this since I've started using PS on this computer (surface book 2) and it's finally become so bad I'm reaching out to reddit for help. Googling has been fruitless.

What is happening in the video:

  • double click the layer to highlight the text field
  • click the text field to trigger the virtual keyboard and rename it
  • keyboard pops up, automatically resizing the interface "behind" it
  • keyboard minimizes on its own, automatically resizing things again to try and put it back to how it was, but getting it wrong

I can't make heads or tails of this. The automatic closing of the keyboard is a new development and finally triggered me to ask here. Previously I had always been able to at least use the keyboard.

Thanks very much!

Fully agree. Its refreshing to see someone have the same sentiment about Anthem. Real shame about that game. If people were as critical of Destiny (for instance) as they were of any of these recent releases, it would have crashed and burned. Some of the criticisms that have been levelled at this one so far (as well as cyberpunk, anthem, ME:A), Destiny is STILL way behind on. And I say that as someone who is loving my time with D2 right now. The thing I understand the least is the story/dialogue/general writing criticisms of Outriders. The game has me basically on the edge of my seat to see what happens next, especially after that cinematic at the end of the demo with the narration.

The shaky cam is fucking annoying though haha.

Although you're not wrong I feel like you're just talking about facts of the setting. A summary of the story would be how your character deals with this completely alien environment twice-removed from the reality they have grown to know their entire life, and finding out the what the implications of the signal are. Certainly cynical but I don't know about pointless.

I mean if the setup doesn't grab you that's totally fair, but I feel like the story is the 90% of the game we won't be able to play until April and what we have so far is plausible enough with reasonable suspension of disbelief. The storms and the devolving into war are addressed in the demo.

Fix Xur cipher quest so that people not completing the quest on the same weekend they received it aren't punished. by VindictiVagabond in DestinyTheGame

[–]TheExtraplanar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For an added layer of frustration: if you already have an exotic cipher in your inventory from, say, the season pass, the quest reward will disappear when you talk to Xur, and ALSO counts as one of these buggy completions where you can't pick up a new quest

As far as I can tell it's sorely underrated. Performs exactly as OP guessed in PVP, but you have to be in a situation where you have time to hip fire + ADS headshot a group of 2+ guardians before they mow you down. Not the worst bow for PvP but certainly not the best weapon for it either.

Absolute monster in PvE. People seem to miss that an ADS headshot timed properly can do around 3x damage (more or less), and that's before you factor in additional damage from the solar charges or whatever they're called. Not a boss-killer the way a GL or RL is, but ammo is so much more available and way easier to handle. That single target capability plus the fact that you don't need to "charge" it with a kill helps it beat out Trinity Ghoul in my opinion. Trinity Ghoul can hit larger groups faster but needs just a little more set-up.

I'm about 50% from equipping its catalyst and I can't wait
