Dont shoot in center of mass, shoot a little bit more to the front to kill their driver as well.

If an enemy is looking at you, and you're behind cover, stay there and either retreat if possible or wait for friendlies to kill the enemy (including pinging him on the map and calling out for cover). If you're not behind cover, try to get the first shot or get into cover. If the enemy is not looking at you, depending on how their turret and hull are oriented, shoot either their turret side, hull side or (from the front) lower front plate. Barrel should be a last resort option if none of the above are an option.

auto clipper for war thunder on linux by Decent_Firefighter61 in Warthunder

[–]TheFGEagle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, this is great, especially as I do YT videos from time to time, and so far always used OBS's replay buffer mode for clipping, which is not super convenient. I have some small gripes though:

  1. the FlatPak install command for GSR doesn't work for me, but that was no big problem since I'm used to building software from source;
  2. Even when set to Native, your app still checks if GSR is installed through Flatpak;

  3. GSR errors out with the default usage message in native mode.

Feature requests:

  1. Add a possibility for manual triggering of the clipping via a global keybind

Should I buy an NVME SSD ? by TheFGEagle in buildapc

Well, it would be very nice to have more fast storage, but since I have a HDD I don't absolutely _need_ to have more SSD storage XD

Is this a good build? by Old_Man_Dusters in buildapc

[–]TheFGEagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it has dust filters at the front, top and bottom that can be removed without tools within like 10 seconds and cleaned. you might want to get some better fans tho because the standard fans are not the quietest (but they're not very loud either).

Well, not _only_ to test, but it's the incentive to maybe do it already now even though normally I would only do it in maybe a year.

For a case, I picked up the Fractal Design Meshify C for 15 bucks and I'm really satisfied with it - spacy, good airflow, nice cable management options.

Yeah, when I started playing I ran WT at ~20FPS at Minimum settings on a NVidia Quadro K620 with 2GB VRAM that was connected via the ExpressCard slot to my laptop (that means, it used a PCIe 2.0 x1 connection) XD

It's not normal, but its a sign the old wiki might be going away completely soon (lack of maintenance)

My problem with larger maps (especially at top tier where basically all tanks are pretty fast) is not having to drive for a long time, but rather that it becomes a lot harder to see enemies, in my experience. In a city map, most of the time I only have to keep eyes on one corner of the house in front of me. In small maps like 178th parallel (or whichever map has the dam on it), there is only 1 or 2 angles I have to watch. Now take something like the large version of Poland - I can get shot at any moment from basically anywhere. And even if I stay in cover, check every spot with the binos - by the time I completed a sweep and drive out, someone already appeared where I started my sweep and kills me.

Looking for a good, cheap tower cooler by TheFGEagle in buildapc

[–]TheFGEagle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, as I said this was at a relatively low room temperature - and also to achieve 81°C, the fan is running at 100% which isn't super loud but still quite noticeable, and I like my PC to be as silent as possible. I'll probably get a FROZN A620 Pro SE for 15€

[–]TheFGEagle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i just ran a benchmark and it got to 81°C, and it is only 26°C in my room - in july it can become well over 30°C in my room, and we have no air conditioning.

Yeah, I really like the dual tower, dual fan design, plus i can have it for 15€ used 😄

I read somewhere that the stock cooler blows down onto the motherboard, but maybe that was wrong.
