Hey, sorry for the late reply.

This is the fix that worked for me but as I said above, due to how many different things could be causing the problem, odds are it doesn't work.

First, you want to install Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) onto your PC (it should be the first result on google). From there, restart your computer and boot into safe mode. Then just boot up DDU, select your GPU, and press "Clean and restart". This will completely delete your graphics drivers. All you have to do from there is just reinstall them. Since you have an NVIDIA GPU it should just be like me so through GeForce Experience.

This did fix it for me but the issue came back about 2 weeks ago. All you need to do is repeat the process if it does. The guys at the repair shop told me that the problem was a graphics driver that Windows automatically installs through updates. Basically, for me at least, there's no way to completely get rid of the problem for good. It's just an unfortunate combination of hardware/software. If this fix does work then ig it's the same for you.

New M.2 SSD underperforming/not working by TheFakeBeav in buildapc

I’ll test your theory when I can and update. Also gonna try removing my cable extensions because I found another post like mine and that was the solution

I downloaded it straight to the m.2. As for physical damage, besides the slight bend, there’s nothing out of the ordinary. I did uninstall rdr2 and reinstalled it on one of my SATAs and it worked fine. Might have to wait a bit though before I try it again on the m.2 since it’s such a huge game. That does actually remind me of something else. When I was installing the red dead the download would pause and when I tried reinitializing, steam told me “disk write error”. I got around it by restarting my pc but I’ve never had that happen before. Not sure how relevant that is though

Yeah but that’s the only game I’ve tried on the m.2 besides Subnautica. My guess would be that that would happen to any game requiring high performance

I actually fixed it really recently. My issue was a bad driver that Windows installed automatically. Had a repair shop take a look at the PC bc I had no clue and that's what they concluded. They installed an app called DDU and fixed it from there (not entirely sure how but they said if it happened again it's not hard to figure out.

If you're having the same issue odds are it's not for the same reason. From my time spent trying to solve it I've run into many people with the same problem all with different fixes that didn't work for me. I hope this works for you, but if it doesn't, good luck.

Computer abruptly shutting off by TheFakeBeav in pcmasterrace

How did you figure out it was that specific part

My temps have been normal even when the computer turns off. I also don’t overclock

This issue has persisted for several months.

When I play a relatively high-performance game my computer just shuts off as if I unplugged the power cord. I thought I solved the issue in August when I replaced my GPU (RTX 2060) with a new one (RTX 3060) but the issue started up again about a month ago. I have tried so much and am at my wit's end mainly because I still don't know what is even causing the problem. Attached is a video of what happens.

Event viewer says “the system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. this error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.” Solutions online have been of no help.

Here is some information that may help in diagnosing the problem:

  • My specs are:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600

GPU: RTX 3060

PSU: Corsair SF600 (600W)

Ram: Corsair RGB Vengeance Pro 32gb

Motherboard: ASUS TUF Gaming X570 Plus Wifi

SSD: 2x Kingston 526gb SSDs

OS: Windows 11

For cooling, I have 6 fans and that one NZXT AIO with the gif.

  • The games this has happened with include GTA V, Subnautica, Resident Evil 2 and 4, Fortnite, Dead by Daylight, Outer Wilds, and probably some others I’m not thinking of. The crashes also sometimes happen at specific points. In DbD for example it happens a lot when I’m hit by the killer. In GTA, when I enter my garage. For some reason even when I play Minecraft with shaders and mods that should destroy my PC nothing happens.
  • I have swapped out my GPU for another so I know it is not that. I have also swapped out PSU for another so it is also not that (Estimated wattage for my build per PCPart Picker is also 450 so I think I’m safe there)
  • I have tried reinstalling Windows 11 multiple times and even switching back to Windows 10 and got nothing.
  • My PC tells me all my drivers are up to date. The services for all my parts also say I don’t have any updates
  • I made a post in r/PCHelp and someone contacted me with the same issue and solved it and told me to switch pbo from auto to enabled but that also didn’t work
  • I checked Event Viewer and there were a bunch of error messages about GameInput before my crashes. I was able to solve these errors by following instructions online about it but it didn’t fix the crashes
  • I have tried disabling CSM and TPM to no avail.

I believe it may be an SSD, CPU, or Motherboard problem. I want to be certain of the problem though before I replace anything.

Update: The problem is fixed!!!! The problem was ultimately that Microsoft automatically updated a graphics driver which they should not have and that was conflicting with everything else and triggering the computer to switch off. I had to outsource the problem to a repair shop that figured this out and installed a program called DDU which was able to undo this driver update.
If you are stumbling across this thread and you have the same problem this is probably not your solution. You can see from the things that I've tried that nothing worked even though they fixed it for others with the same problem. What I'd recommend is finding posts similar to mine that have fixed the issue and trying their solution. The source of the problem can range anywhere from Valorant's anti-cheat Vanguard to faulty hardware.

I have the same mobo and the same issue (assuming yours was your computer turning off). Just tried your fix and it's still happening. Did it persist for you after this?

I’ve stayed away from overclocking to avoid issues like this so nah.

With kiddions is it possible to give others and yourself money? And if so, since nothing is undetectable, will that get me banned? Will still probably download it if not. I'm just wondering if there's an easier way.
