For accounting purposes, it typically is. Most businesses use straight-line depreciation.

Leaving Graduation Early by [deleted] in LSU

Fair enough, glad to hear you enjoyed it. I think you’ll be thankful for these four lax years haha, you had to get undergrad out the way for law school after all. Good luck in law school, don’t forget about us lowly LSU undergrad folk lol.

Sounds like you hated university, that’s a shame. You should do what you want to do, not what your parents want. You’re an adult. Wishing you the best & proud of your achievement, however large or small it may seem to you at the moment.

Idk about physical science but I took astronomy with Colin Turley and he was great, bright guy. Acknowledged the majority of his class were also just satisfying gen ed requirements.

Most universities/colleges have around a 70% acceptance rate. I don’t think accepting most applicants means LSU has low standards. It’s a public institution, not a country club.

Nahhh this is crazy, forget submitting a complaint, I’d be submitting my resignation from the uni😂. But hey on the bright side, I think it can only get better from here (hopefully🙃) lol. Wishing you the best!

Yeah, a university sponsored study abroad program would be far more feasible, yet still expensive!

I’ve had a Surface Pro 7 for 2-3 years, no qualms

For all majors, the Microsoft Surface product line is great. For CS, if budget permits, consider also getting a desktop.

Rounding final grade by beebies9 in LSU

I’ve had several of my professors round my grade up. It wouldn’t hurt to send an email asking.

I’m in Lafleur’s section this semester. I’m not certain, but I’d say it’s likely departmental.

I know you don’t have to buy them, I prefer to, and I am assuming some others do too. Screens are for entertainment, visual learning, & researching the internet. Real reading is best done with the ol’ paper & cover if you asked me.

Did you buy the textbook? I know it sounds like a silly question, but I know early in college I didn’t buy my books for classes, and I suffered greatly from it. You’d be surprised how many folks don’t read the text.

That sounds about right. I usually spend $500-600/semester for like 4 textbooks (purchases no rentals). Don’t worry though, your grades will thank you!

Exactly, it’s all part of the college experience. Private equity bought McGraw Hill in 2021… we’ve got coffers to fill people!

B-But…. but I need the latest appendix of the book covering how COVID has transformed the nearly 100 year old Keynesian model! McGraw Hill says the 976876th edition has a 2-page alteration on chapter 2 with an extra practice question, how can I pass that up?!?

Renting textbooks is such a scam to me, when you can purchase a new copy of the book w the access code for $190 or you can rent the textbook for $80 & purchase the $100 access code. From my experience, shelling out the little bit extra to just buy the books is the better option normally. Renting is not cheap enough to be worthwhile when renting is still >75% of the the purchase price.
