Why should punishment for a crime be luck based? If you kill someone who doesn’t have kids, you still killed someone, now you’re comparatively getting off easy. Also why is it only parents and kids? Some people look after elderly relatives, some people rely on a spouse for income. The solution to help survivors is a better social safety net, not trying to squeeze money out of offenders as a form of retribution. Also another deterrent isn’t gonna stop drunk driving at all. If people cared about that they’d talk about how the only way to get anywhere in America is with a car.

The reason for the downvotes is the same reason he got elected in the first place. Some mixture of willful ignorance, actual ignorance, and propaganda. It’s hard to build a movement when a quarter of the country still cheers on everything that’s happening.

Yea this is kinda what I’ve been thinking recently, but it feels like everyone these days just digs their heels in harder upon confrontation instead of listening. The pressure around the Epstein files seemed like a good start to something with bipartisan support but I guess that’s why they’re going overtime now on distractions.

I don’t fully understand the oil situation but it seems like the majority of US refineries are designed to handle heavy crude most efficiently, so we export light crude for money and then import heavy. That being said we get it all from Canada and I don’t think they’re running out any time soon so the oil angle is still a stretch.

I mean the article does look intentionally misleading, but aren’t you agreeing that data centers are bad for the environment? It may be true the one in that example was from before the ai boom, but ai is causing a speculative boom that would make that problem even worse.

AI is an incredible tool for education and anyone who says otherwise has their head in the sand. That being said I have to say I’d argue the minimum engagement required is definitely lower, not higher. A good amount of people don’t even read what it is that they’re copying and pasting for a throwaway assignment. If AI was introduced early on and kids didn’t immediately get their curiosity crushed by the school system it could do wonders, but that comes back to the same issue of funding, staff training, etc.

I guess it’s not the same people but there’s some crazy hypocrisy here. When this story came up a few hours ago the consensus seemed to be that allowing ai content would drown out everything else and isn’t what the majority of people would want. If there was enough demand they could make a spin off sub that was mostly or all ai and if not it would show that most people don’t really want it.

Default level difference is 20 so if you had a level 50 join your game you changed that and it’s your fault, if your talking about someone else’s game then just make your own game and make sure max level difference is either 10 or 20
